Update: I forgot to mention; I'll be shipping these out to the winners, and I will only ship to the US.
Video game soundtracks have come a long way from music we could've easily emulated on our old electronic keyboards at home.
These days, professional musicians are involved with the composition and production of the excellent music we hear in AAA titles. In fact, it has become increasingly more important with every passing generation, which is one of the reasons why Sumthing Else Music Works (SEMW) has become an "acknowledged industry leader in licensing and distributing video game soundtracks." It's because gamers want such soundtracks. And Sumthing Else has teamed up with many of the world's leading developers (BioWare, Bungie, Sega, Epic, Sony Computer Entertainment, Ubisoft, etc.) to give us great soundtracks from many of your favorite games. They will also temporarily team up with PSXE to hand out three original game soundtracks; they'll give us the prizes and we'll hand 'em out. Here's how to nab one:
User Reviews: The user who submits the most user reviews that are worth reading will receive one of the prizes. Simply enter your User CP and submit a review for a game; we'll approve it and post it up, and then your peers can comment on your work. And to reiterate, if you're going to post 10 reviews at a paragraph apiece, don't bother…those won't count. 😉
Forums:
We will pick out who we deem to be the most productive poster in the forums, and that person will snag one of the soundtracks. Again, like the User Reviews, one-sentence posts won't exactly get our attention. Just be a good contributor; that's all.
Comments:
And lastly, the Comment winner will be the one who posts a lot of quality comments on the main page. There are so many of you who already do, which means this will probably be the most competitive category. Just don't be surprised to see more people showing up to give our best Commenters a run for their money!
And what are you playing for? Three original soundtracks, one each for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , God of War III and inFamous . All three boasted great music and for more info, feel free to check out Sumthing Digital . We'll run this for a couple of weeks; I'm not going to hand out an exact deadline, so just…like, start now. 😉
Uncharted 2 soundtrack is rad. Not a quality post but it's worth mentioning.
I'm going to type my @$$ off to win that.

I want the Infamous soundtrack!
I like this, it pushes the community to think and contribute even more quality to the site.
Whoever wins them really deserves them. There's a lot of quality posting, reviewing, etc. here
Ooh I bought the UC2 soundtrack off Amazon the other day, this will make a nice prize. Nate's Theme 2.0 FTW!
Amon Tobin ftw.
Ok, calling the winners right now for 2 of the 3 categories:
1. Forums: The Benny(Macho)
2. Comments: Highlander
Congrats dudes. And an applause for the nominees. 😉

I would usually agree, but I don't think it would be fair for many new users.
Highlander has been here a long time, has made a lot of high quality comments. I just don't think he should win. Not because of his comments, or his ability to make us scratch our heads, but because he's just too well known.
No offense Highlander.
Its powers is over 9000 no one can compete hehe
But if you believe any can have a chance!!
I think the fact that he's well known due to his quality comments in the PSXExtreme community is reason enough to give him a serious consideration. It would be a slap in the face to tell him, "Hey, I know this competition is for quality comments and being well known, but we don't think it's fair that you're already giving quality comments and are well known. We'd prefer it if you'd just accept our pat on the back."
My point is, it's not very considerate to go out of our way to NOT thank him for contributing. He should be a quality candidate (among others) due to the fact that he makes this site better without a prize as a motivator.
I don't own any of those games, but I'm sure the "Pot Of Tea" song is enough for me to buy the actual CD on iTunes or maybe even at the store. (Sarcasm, I mean, who buys at the store anymore?)
Anyways, I wish everyone luck and can't wait to see all the creative comments the PSXE community will make!
Summertime is here. I'd invite some of my "gamer friends" over for a BBQ, serve up some nice cold beers and great grub. At night, I'd start a campfire and crank the God Of War III soundtrack…..what would follow next is one incredible mosh-pit.
Epic!
In for one.
Can I have a burger and a pop?
Pleease oh please may I have a burger and pop at your BBQ?
Personally I think we should have had an online multiplayer tournament in Uncharted 2 to declare the winner of this contest.
I love this idea for a contest. Though I won't be a contender in any of the categories, I wish the best of luck to those that are.
Well what a conundrum you've put us all in Ben. I like it. But it would be hard to give Highlander a run for his money in the comments area. Although I am clearly the greatest thread maker of the forums, there is something to be said for Benny 😉 Not sure my reviews would be too well received though.
Well World I plan on FINALLY joining you over there in the forums… not saying I'm going to give you a run for your money but you'll atleast have some mroe company
Out of all soundtracks this generation I had found Infamous to be really good. Okay I haven't played much of the game. But it hurled you into the chaotic streets of Empire City, how the ultraspirtbomb devastated the city and turned around Coles life.
This kind is memorable I can still remember the sounds of the LoK soundtrack in my mind. It was so good.its something I'll always remember.
I like this. Seeing "more people showing up" to comment always gives me a good laugh.
When you say "quality posts" I certainly hope you're including "knows how to spell" in there.
Very good point, i notice a lot of people mispell grammar when mentioning their bad grammar and its so ironic its borderline laugh out loud. definitely smirk out loud material though.
It is fun to watch the newbs.
I'm glad im not a n00b. I has good grammer!
Guess it's time to start making researched, informed and logical comments. Unfortunately I may not be able to win due to some sort of disposition…
No matter, I shall still join the games and attempt to emerge the victor!
I would love the god of war III soundtrack!! I've never won anything on the internet so hopefully this is a quality comment… Here we go…
The soundtracks now a days are pretty amazing. Like you said, back then we could just get a keyboard and play the soundtrack pretty much. But now it's all orchestra and the music sounds beautiful. I have three things that I LOVE. Those three things are Soccer(Futbol), games, and music. I love playing and listening to music, I currently play the saxophone. So I've been listening to songs on game soundtracks online. But I don't have copies of it, I would love to though.
Hopefully that was a quality comment, and thanks for doing this giveaway!
I'll just keep on commenting like always and in a few weeks I'll see who has won and congratulate them on contributing as they always do to the PSXE site.
Though I'm never on the forums, since that's too much of a hassle for me, so I don't know who would win that one.
awesome that such a famous studio would contribute to a friendly competition 'round here though.
Good luck to all y'all!

I Loved the soundtrack of the credits of Infamous , if am going to win one , there wont be any one better than it 🙂
That's pretty awesome. As if we didn't have enough incentive to post on this site.
I already have all three soundtracks, but good luck to everybody who goes for them.
Interesting categories…
You think I'll win if I copy and paste comments from Destructoid?
…I'm sorry, but that level of stupidity will make my brain explode.
Any way we can get ittsy to stop spamming us?
This is hardly a fair competition. I don't know how to write reviews, scared of the forums, can't comment intelligently. Not to mention I can't sing or dance. Oooooh I know, ….. let's have an envelope licking contest.
Yeah I agree with Milonakis …..ban ittsy. or lttsy however it's spelled

If only I could just pause time. Then I would have the time to read every article, post a million comments and carefully think out a legitimate review for some games. Since that can't happen and I too busy there is no way I could possibly win this competition.
I hear ya man
no!
Damn! This competition is a damn good one but due to the time difference of the US and Aust usually the topic has gone cold. Ben here's a question…how do you plan on giving these out as in shipping or codes etc? Anyway good luck to all.
I'll ship them and sorry, but I'll only ship to the US. I just added that addendum above.
Aw, damn, I'm Canadian! Guess I'm out.
Actually, I suppose I have some family in the states. Guess I can still compete, afterall!
Where is this site based? In the U.S., I mean. I've always wondered that.
Definitely going to guess the site is based in the U.S. This site generate many intelligent comments unlike a lot of gaming sites. So, this will certainly be an interesting competition.
Underdog, you have a surprisingly appropriate name for this, and icydude101 I must agree with the fact that soundtracks have come quite a long way. Fully orchestrated well matched music which really enhances the experience. I would certainly have to say that Uncharted 2 and KZ2 have good soundtracks but would anybody agree that GTAIV might be in the running for some sort of music award? I know that the music isn't exactly innovative it's the amount of music involved (w. the expansion packs especially)the amount of choice involved and the soundtrack for the game and cinematics itself.
