Backbreaker Golden, Sequel Already In The Works

Arcade-style football fans have been waiting for something like Backbreaker , but is it "counting your chickens before they've hatched" to start working on a sequel?

The first title by Natural Motion isn't even out yet, but according Torsten Reil's Twitter page , the team has already started on Backbreaker 2 . The first has gone gold and will be store shelves in just a few weeks time (June 1), but obviously, the developers aren't worried about its performance. You should check out our new preview ; this is game that fans of the old Tecmo Bowl should really enjoy. Not only will it boast straightforward, simple arcade-style controls and tons of sweet animations, but it'll also provide the player with a boatload of customization and freedom. You can create your own player and even your own team from scratch; make up a logo and get going! This is the type of production that certainly won't appeal to Madden aficionados, but that's exactly the point: if you don't want to get involved with the true-to-life physics and all that depth and intricacy, and you still love big hits and long TDs, you gotta try Backbreaker .

And by the way, Tecmo Bowl Throwback should be on the PSN pretty damn soon; it's a great time to be an old-school pigskin fan.

Sounds like ModNationMadden. Might be fun but I suspect the price will play a large part in it's commercial success.

Ditto for me about the mentioned "ModNation Racers" comment ! The only cart based game I ever enjoyed playing was Mario Cart and I can't recall any other cart based racer being as good as MCR !

Now as for "Backbreaker" I'll give it a look see when the demo comes out but I like real football sims and not arcade style games but it'll be worth a change of pace from the grind of "Madden" !

The demo for ModNation was really good, and the customization sounds like it has plenty of depth. Plus endless tracks. I mean I am opting for RDR as my next purchase but a cart racer with the create and share mentality is a great idea.

If you loved Mario Kart, I'm sure you'll love ModNation Racers. Give it a try before you pass it, never know your mind might change.
