If you were watching the NBA Playoffs last night on ESPN – the game where the Boston Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic to take a 2-0 series lead – you likely caught the world premiere trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops .
It arrived during the third quarter and you can bet it was a definite crowd-pleaser. One may not have expected a big trailer to air so early; after all, the game isn't scheduled to hit until November 9. But then again…we are talking about Call of Duty , here. And while I know we don't have a lot of FPS fans around here, you have to admit that this particular video looks very, very promising. We loved what Treyarch did with World at War and it looks like they're upping the ante yet again. If you missed out on the fun, check it out:
Pretty hot, yes? The visuals really appear to be impressive and the action is as close to a Hollywood blockbuster as you're going to get. There's no doubt that Treyarch is putting a ton of effort and resources into this one (as well they should), and we should all reap the rewards come fall. And we know the emphasis will be on multiplayer as it always is, but could you maybe take a cue from EA and dedicate one team to the multiplayer and a whole separate group to handling the single-player campaign…? Maybe then we'll get one that's worth the price of admission, for those of us who have no interest in online multi…
That game trailer looked good. Lakers for 2010 champs!

I'm surprised, this actually looks better than MW2, though that not saying much
Two questions. Is that Bruce Willis at the beginning? And will we get to play as Bruce?
It 'defs looks brill'!
Can't wait to see more.
XBox!?!? why that ruined it for me even thou I wasn't very interrested from the start. It seems like you always see Xbox at the end of game commercials…
Xbox SUCKS!!!

It looks really good…but I was burned by MW2. Hopefully the single player campaign is more than an afterthought this time. Yes, I know these are designed mostly for online but give me my $60 worth by giving a good offline mode.
lol, its xbox exclusive huh?
</s>
Not surprised really, when it comes to milking a franchise Activision and Microsoft always comes to mind.
lol
lol another call of duty title? yea… SKIPPED!
Hell ya zombies here I come! Can't wait for cod:black ops!
Yeah, no wasting my money on a prestige preorder on this one.
If the single player is longer and more varied than just "run here, shoot this", I'll be a little happier.
Will see how MOH compares. Either way, it's gonna be a preowned purchase for me.
Now, PS3 version on better tv or 360 version on smaller and older tv with net connection to Live friends?
Damn I wish my friends got PS3's over 360, but this was 2008 and PS3 was $300 AU more expensive, until the red ring catastrophe changed that and made multiple 360 purchases all the rage.
I dunno about you guys but I think this one looks really really good…. And personally think it will blow MW2 out of the water.
If it pulls off what I think it will this might be the first COD I actually buy. The others I just borrowed or traded but this one might just be worth it in my opinion….
Well, I'm not a fan of console shooters or console shooters ported to the PC (the ME trilogy is the only exception ^^). I'm also one of the few guys who thinks MW2 was greatly overhyped and worse than MW. The (non-existent) story was also a joke.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned but MP for me is merely an addition unless it's a game that's specifically designed for MP-fun (ModNation, MAG, Halo ODST/Reach etc).
Thus I'd love to see a proper SP campaign in a good shooter (not a mediocre train-cash shooter *cough* like MW2 *cough*).
BO might actually be one of the new shooters I could really enjoy. Looking forward to this one, the trailer caught my interest.
