In celebration of the North American release of Rockstar's bad-ass new Western-themed title, Red Dead Redemption , the "Kill a Rockstar" competition has now officially begun. The contest started yesterday and will run through the first of June; if you can manage to jump online and track down and kill a Rockstar Games employee, you will earn the rare "Red Dead Rockstar" Trophy/Achievement. You can also earn this by nailing somebody who already got the Rockstar employee, so it's like a train of success… And if you're already enrolled in the Rockstar Game Social Club and you manage to accomplish this, you will be automatically entered into a drawing for the chance to have your likeness grace a unique Multiplayer character in upcoming DLC! This is pretty imaginative on the part of Rockstar, and we imagine a lot of you will be logging on to give it a shot. How will you recognize a Rockstar employee? Well, all of them have PSN IDs/GamerTags with the name, "RedDeadDev," so like, "RedDeadDev12" or "RedDeadDev 20" (there seem to be a total of 26).
So if you've already got RDR and you need a break from the great single-player campaign, get online and see if you can't find yourself a "RedDeadDev" target!

Ahhh, I want to kill a Rockstar! Unfortunately, I'll be waiting a few days for RDR to arrive in the mail. I usually like going through the single player campaign before I go online with a game anyway. Can't wait to get into this game, its getting incredible reviews and just seems like a lot of fun. Looking forward to the your review Ben and/or Arnold.

When will the RDD review be up? The game looks interesting, but I am ambivalent as of now. I want to hear an opinion from a worker on PSX extreme.
Damn I'm busy , today I got the game( and 25 credit that gonna use in Mario Galaxy 2 😉 ) I just play it one and half hours , till now it feels like a solid 8.5 for me ,the atmosphere of the game its really awesome.
So far I am really loving this game. I will take a shot at killing a Rockstar sometime soon. I increased my internet speed so I should be able to get online and hunt a developer down. With or without success, it'll be quite entertaining trying it out.
I got the golden guns downloaded and logged into the social club for the gentleman's attire, but I'm crashing soon and won't play again until tomorrow after work. Yes LV, I'm still using my own sleeping bag and will be sleeping armed with my golden guns.
I think LV disappeared.
Oh…. I'm sure he's around somewhere. Maybe playing PC games or something.

It actually won't be impossible as long as you play online for a few hours. You'll be surprised at how fast the trophy travels. Borderlands had a similar trophy: 'And They’ll Tell Two Friends' – Played in a co-op game with either an employee of Gearbox or someone who had this trophy. I played Borderlands online TWICE, I mean it literally, and still managed to get it.
I assume that it does travel fast but I may be wrong, might've been lucky :p
They had this exact same trophy in GTAIV and since you just have to kill someone who already has it, I got it on my first kill on my first online match. Everyone gets it eventually.

Im still on the fence about this game. I'm not sure I want to support lazy developers who make subpar-HD games for a quality system like the PS3.

CVG did report the PS3 version is only in 640p while the 360 version is 720p. I'm having trouble finding the link. If this is true, I'm going to be pissed. 2nd Rockstar game i ever bought, will likely be the last.

it is true. RDR runs at 640p on the PS3, just like GTA4 did. Of course, no one will call R* out on this cuz they will still sell a buttload of copies on the PS3, though I'm sure more on 360.
Maybe with Agent they can finally get it right.
I've read this, too. But the game doesn't have the fuzzy look to it as GTA4 did. Moreover, when I first started playing it, it looked so crisp and sharp, I figured it was true 720p. If it's any consolation, we do have an extra area and costume (it's made available in the "download content" startup option, though technically, it's not downloaded but unlocked by entering a key) that is fully accessible by defeating a number of challenges.
Sure, that seems like chump change, but then again, any graphical difference isn't exactly significant, either, especially if it's not game breaking nor noticeable (since chances are you won't be playing them side-by-side). And even if I knew their was a graphical difference, I'd still get it for ps3, just because I don't bother paying for xbox Live.
In hindsight, I can see why R* kept quiet about the exclusive content on the ps3, and was strict about the review embargo date (so at least first day sales wouldn't be swayed to either platform by review score or content.) I've heard this game was 5 years in development with the 360 for the lead in the development, and the ps3 version was only hammered out in the last year or two.
I will go online.

I'm playing RDR right now for 8 hours straight, but I don't think I'll be playing online anytime soon. I want to fully enjoy the single player experience first.

Well done Rockstar. Not only do you create a near perfect Western themed game, but you find a way to make people WANT to play online and offer a fantastic reward.

well, been playing the game for awhile now, and its awesome. R* best game for me to date. Definitely in my top 3 this year, and im gonna kill me a R* shortly!

Went online this morning, was greeted by no one. I'll have to try it again later on tonight probably.
I logged in GTA4 multi only once, and killed a Rockstar. I didnt like the multiplayer though, the lock on mode is ridiculous.
