Activision and Red Octane have been a match made in heaven for the acclaimed Guitar Hero series, but now, a new face may be emerging on the scene. Developer Neversoft is looking to take the helm for future installments, according to both EGM and Neversoft's website .
So it seems like a definite possibility, but it's far from being written in stone. There are plenty of Guitar Hero III rumors swirling around out there, and that includes an '80s version of the game later on this year. However, if Neversoft is involved with that one, Harmonix may be working on the actual sequels.
We expect to see Harmonix remain affiliated with the popular franchise, or perhaps they'll create a new rhythm series of their own…or maybe even an Amplitude sequel ('crosses fingers'). But whoever takes the lead with future Guitar Hero titles, we'll assume the series is in good hands.
