Ben-DutkaIf you think this is really early, bear in mind that North American gamers had to wait about a year for the first game.
The rumors have been flying concerning a Japanese launch date for White Knight Chronicles 2 , which will supposedly be featured in the next edition of Famitsu. But before we even got that far, a retailer has apparently leaked the date so many have been waiting for: according to JustPushStart citing Japanese retailer Game Star, the highly anticipated sequel should launch on July 8. Nothing is official right now; Level 5 hasn't confirmed anything but considering how far along they should be in development, July 8 seems possible. However, either way, there is no announcement of US version just yet, so fans of the original just have to hope the first WKC sold enough to warrant another localization. And if they do decide to give us WKC2, we're all hoping the latter process won't take quite as long. Some critics will also be looking for significant improvements in the gameplay, which many didn't exactly enjoy or appreciate; we're basically one of the few who enjoyed the adventure . But even so, based on what we've heard, the sequel should be a lot better in a number of different ways.
We'll let you know if Famitsu or Level 5 confirms July 8 as the Japanese launch date and if that happens, we can all start guessing at a possible US date…how's about holiday 2010?

Not necessarily. They admitted they could localize the sequel a lot faster and in truth, they should've localized the original faster.
I want too know when it is coming out in america?
I love the first one. It's the kind of jrpg grind fest that makes me feel like I'm home. I will finish it up while eagerly awaiting this one.
The first one was okay but just wasn't for me unfortunately. I will keep an eye out for info on this one though because I think they have a very good foundation to build from.

I am really excited over this, white knight has been my favorite game this year. Keep in mind jrpg is my genre of choice above all else.
I am really looking forward to the second one and am excited about some of the improvements they are making. I also can't wait to see where the story goes.
you should try resonance of fate too, its pretty good. only problem is you gotta get used to the combat system which can get pretty hard. but once you do its great. my only problem with it is that other costumes are expensive but they dont do anything but change their look.
I really want to, but I opted for Rdr and modnation first. I have to pick and choose and sadly that one will have to wait.

Man! i gotta play the first one! i bought it in january i think, but haven't got a chance to play it yet. but my pre-order for 3d dot game heroes just came in today…

Definitely waiting with anticipation for this. I really hope that they can do the localization faster this time, waiting for a year or so after the Japanese release is not much fun.
Which reminds me, any word from Namco on a localization of Tales of Vesparia?
As far as I know their offical status on the matter is still "no plans to bring it to NA".
Shame because knowing there is a vastly superior ps3 version out there I can't bring myself to buy the 360 version.
What actually pisses me off is that the 360 version in Japan has an English option. The PS3 version does not. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, if they at least include English menus and subtitles I'll buy the game via import. There are a lot of games I'd have imported from Japan if there were English menus and subtitles…
I gave in and imported. Fantastic game, easily my favorite JRPG (and probably favorite RPG) this generation. It's a crime that Namco-Bandai doesn't feel that US PS3 owners deserve it, as not everyone has the dedication to learn Japanese in order to play their favorite video games 😉
I'd love to learn enough Japanses to do that – I'd love to learn to speak Japanese anyway. But I'd have to learn both spoken and written Japanese for it to work. Short of living there, I see no way that I can learn and retain enough Japanese to make a difference.
But a straight text translation of all the menu, subtitle and message text in a game can't really be that difficult to manage. All software these days is implemented using language resource files so that you can replace the text in a game at a stroke by replacing the resource file. Just a simple translation of the text would be sufficient for most.
I hope it comes faster than the last one, I love the first WKC. I found the gameplay works well for it.
i hope they release the second game in the US. the first left me hanging on the story. Next time i want my avatar to have a knight, let me kill the black knight or something. oh, and dont make the trophies and guild ranking a chore. You can make getting them hard but not too time consuming. seriously, guild ranking takes too long, getting all items is the same, getting a huge amount of money at one time. those were a pain. i hate how my trophy percentage is at 15%

hell no im not getting the 2nd one! i literally played 5 minutes into the 1st W.K game and regretted even looking at it in-store ._.
