We believe it'd be a terrible idea to discount or dismiss Medal of Honor . It's a rejuvenation effort for the ailing franchise, and EA is really putting their backs into the process.
And we'll all find out if the effort was worth it, as EA has revealed that the highly anticipated shooter will release on October 12 in North America for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC (it'll launch three days later in Europe). Goodbye old wars, hello new ones, complete with modern-day terrorist threats; the game takes place in Afghanistan, after the tragic events of 9/11. You will step into the capable boots of a member of an elite group of the US Special Operations Command known as Tier 1 Operators. To enhance the level of realism and authenticity, EALA has been working closely with actual Tier 1 Operators, whose harrowing experiences in the field served as inspiration for the story in the game. These guys had to blend in with civilians, so they grew beards and wore local clothing; this is what happened when US Special Forces invaded Afghanistan in 2001. As for the multiplayer aspect, EA has tapped DICE, the Swedish developer who is responsible for the Battlefield franchise and Mirror's Edge . If you've played any multiplayer in the Bad Company games, you know these guys are multiplayer pros.
There's a trailer through the link above and there's another one on the PlayStation Store that has been there for some time. EA could really hit a home run with this one, and we'd be surprised if it didn't garner its fair share of controversy. The new Call of Duty may be in Vietnam, which could be a sensitive issue, but the very recent and still ongoing war on terror…? It's bound to raise a few eyebrows.

Hopefully this shooter has more than just a little story and a lot of Mp.
I don't mind them doing controversial as long as they do it well. I'm not shooter fan, but I'm always open to anything thats done right.
You pretty much summed it all up. I'm not the biggest FPS fan and I am pretty much burnt out with multiplayer personally so if they have a great single player I will probably pick this up. I am all for controversy and was pretty bummed out that Six Days dropped off the radar.
yh, make a story we care about.
MW2's story had a good plot, but it wasn't really telling the story well enough. i just about cared why i was doing what i was doing…
If this game has a rewarding single player campaign then I'll get it. Mulitplayer is a plus but I would like to see more focus on story and characters.
dice made multiplayer component, i'm sold. i never played any other medal of honor because i hate older wars. i started to get into FPS after they chose modern setting for MW. this is day 1 for me. not i just got to figure out how i'm getting socom 4, ghost recon future soldier, and now a ps move. real men use buttons/triggers not their fingers pew, pew, pew. hahaha, i love that commercial.
why do older wars bother you so much? jw 🙂
Johnld, maybe the bots can build a gun out of legos.
i dunno really, its just the setting and weapons dont really work with me.
finally a modern war game that is based in an actual modern war, thank you EA for being ballsy enough to do it
With DICE working on this one too, what could go wrong?
October and November is gonna be filled with shooters, and I'm not happy there's lot FPS to play, I'm happy because there's a lot to choose from.
I have high hopes for this game.
I don't really care about the multiplayer, but the singleplayer? I hope it's not some 5 hour joke like some other Modern military shooters.
With DICE taking charge we have nothing to worry about. It seems it's gonna be busy for me come oct. and nov.
More brain washing.

Cinnamon Girl of mixed heritage
Never knew the meaning of color lines
911 turned that all around
When she got accused of this crime
So began the mass illusion, war on terror alibi
What`s the use when the god of confusion keeps on telling the same lie?
Uh huh…

Brainwashed?
If you called terrorist's killing 3000+ on 9/11/2001 in America, brainwashing….
and the fact that I also lost friends that day….
Then yeah, I'm brainwashed!!!!! "AND F8CKING PROUD OF IT TOO"
Back on topic:
I'm glad to hear there's finally someone with enough balls to take on a more recent conflict.
I only hope they do it right, & that we get a much longer longer than 6 hour campaign in SP mode.
Now, we just need someone to step up, and do the "6 days" story too.

i'm with you man, i want 6 days to get released too. i mean its a videogame. they talk about people not seeing the difference between reality and videogames but these are the same people that put so much controversy about videogame subject. it may seem close to reality but at the end of the day, its still a video game. Its not like the game is teaching everyone how to build an actual working bomb. so why do they let movies show war stuff like in documentaries and some movies but when it comes to videogames its a no go. both are basically trying to inform others about whats going on when they get as close to reality as they can.
This is one of the few FPS I won't dismiss out of hand, I think MoH stands a good chance at returning to glory.
should be good im hopeing for an epic singleplayer! and they are making a good move by releasing it b4 the new cod!
Invade Afghanistan?-I don't care if it's just a video game,no.
I love MOH just hope it has the great offline multiplayer they have had in previous MOH games, and a good single player mode 🙂 Either way the game should be good
highly anticipated shooter?

anyway i think ive played enough war games to last me 50 lifetimes so ill be giving this on the skip.
