Join A Gang Of The Wild West Today

The first Tuesday update for the PlayStation Network is loaded; not only do we get the Stimulus Pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , but we also get a very cool Western-themed online shooter.

Today, Paradox Interactive has released Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West on the PSN. Developed by Fatshark and featuring four distinct character classes, this is a team-based multiplayer experience that utilizes the unique Synergy system. This requires extensive cooperation between teammates and strategic tactics, and with six total gameplay modes, you can spend plenty of time honing your skills. Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund said they received a "great response from gamers and press" during their recent US press tour, and let's not forget the title has been available on the PC for some time. You also won't need to worry about complex controls and a steep learning curve; Lead and Gold thrives on its pick-up-and-play philosophy, so you should be able to download and dive into the action immediately and effectively. We've seen several great multiplayer-based games on the PSN in the past – Battlefield 1943 is a good example – and we're hoping that Gangs of the Wild West is another worthwhile downloadable experience.

It's available today for the price of $14.99, and hey, that's a whole game rather than the DLC for MW2 that costs the same…

Gangs of the Wild West – 58.7%
Modern Warfare 2 – 93.52%

Seems it's not such a bargain after all..

lol.. i forgot you guys havent had it yet… its quite good. graphics are better than i thought they would be… but you cant crouch! i know its a simple stupid thing, but wow its annoying. over all its worth £10 or what ever it was.

64% from metacritc.. im not defending Lead and Gold, but why would you compare this to MW2? trying not to flame… no, no ..its too hard to resist… RIDICULOUS!

Look, LnG is ok! if you thirst for a Third Person Wild West em up in a Team fortress kinda way, then you should look this up…

but if youre looking for a FPS full of modern weapons, fantasic battles, epic multiplayer and full on war… then buy BFBC2.

but seriously, I would give LnG a solid 7/10 'if' its the sort of game youre looking for.

He lives! I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was actually seeing what I thought. Now can you please go away?

Oh, how is Mushroom Wars treating you? Have you had a chance to try it out?

Great 2part episode. The ending is great when he comes back from the future they sent him back 2 months away instead of 2 weeks.

why do the best games have to be online only?
like the 2nd punisher game.
i loved the first and freaked when i found out they were releasing a new one, so they had to kill it by releasing it online only.
or even breach.
or warhawk.
or MAG.
or APB.
