Alpha Protocol Golden, Set To Infiltrate Stores June 1

June should get off to a good start, now that Obsidian and Sega's promising "espionage RPG" has been cleared to launch on the first day of the month.

Sega has announced that Alpha Protocol has gone gold and will indeed be ready to go on June 1 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in North America (European gamers will get it three days earlier). Combining a variety of appealing gameplay elements, including role-playing, stealth, and straight-up action, you will discover the deadly intricacies of a spy's daily regiment. "With production values on par with a blockbuster action movie," it's all about player decisions; what you do can and often will have a drastic impact on the game's outcome. Perhaps most interesting is the implementation of what they're calling the innovative Dynamic Stance System (DSS), which lets you pick a particular "stance" during a verbal encounter. This means you don't have to give a direct answer; the importance of which every spy fully understands. As they say, your "key weapon is choice." How you interact with other characters and even enemies will be crucial, so make your decisions carefully…lest you reap the whirlwind at a later date.

The game certainly seems to hold a lot of promise, and we'll be interested to see how it turns out. After Heavy Rain , we're lovin' the idea of choice in games.

hasent taken that long, in retrospect of heavy rain or GT5 this is the drag race compared to the marathon.

Looking forward to this game. I hope the devs took the extra time to fine tune it.

The concept of this game is utterly promising, the stealth/action/rpg combo is music to my ears. The part I am most worried about is the "freedom of choice"-part. Will it be *real* choices with *real* consequences, or will it just give different "flavours" of replies from various npc's while the story continue on it's predestined path (like almost every other game that claim the "freedom of choice" label)?

I'm afraid to get my hopes up for this. It looks very good, and I'll most likely check it out. I just hope it's as good as it sounds.

Well I like Obsidian so I'm pretty excited about this. Who doesn't like sneaking around and playing the enemy for fools? Damn, I was doing that through my whole hundred hours of Fallout 3. Sneak attacks FTW!

ref Fallout3: Me too! Sneaking was totally awsome in that game.

Heck, I even play a rogue in Dragon Age just for the sneaking part.

I got my first love of the sneak while playing Thief 1 and 2 on the PC back in the day. When Morrowind came out, I was sneaker/thief supreme. Then came Obvlivion and Fallout 3.

Aaahh, good times. Stealing and pillaging just never gets old.

Alright, now the "me too"-button gets kind of worn out, but: Me too! Thief was my introduction to sneaking with it's (then) amazing graphics and awsome sound.

It'll be good if the stealth is done right. I always found it peculiar that in Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 you were never awesome enough to hide in shadows or in the rafters or something.

I won't be buying this on day one, but if the reviews say anything about how great the stealth is, I'm going to be out there looking for a copy.

Tenchu is the only game [series] that puts the "nin" in ninja.

i've only seen a few videos of this game, but it seems like the graphics for this game seems a little dated. correct me if i'm wrong but maybe i've just been spoiled by the recent games i've been playing lately. but if the review sounds good to me then i might pick this up too. i like stealth games.

I'm sorry but the production values look more like Conviction, which are very square and triangle.

i was really, really, REALLY! excited for this.
the more i read about it the more excited it makes me.
but it is sega so im having to try and keep my hopes down because well they have released how many games this year and they all suck donkey balls!
2 of those have to be the WORST! games i have EVER played!
iron man 2 and AvP are plainly 2 of the worst video games ever created! even worse than rouge warrior, the avatar, damnation, transformers 2 and spider man 3 put together!

I just wish SEGA would hurry the hell up on a console port of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. As far as SEGA games go that one is the big fish for me. They seem to be releasing alot of garbage lately (minus Bayonetta, which was SEGA right?). A shenmue would be nice too.

I may give this a look though. It could provide some thrilling hours or a weekend sugar rush.

Damn I wish I had time and money for this one. I really do. Have to cut it down to 2-3 games a month, even less since about 70% of my back catalogue of games haven't even been finished yet.
