Ubisoft Not Ruling Out A PS3 Version Of Conviction

Will we ever see Splinter Cell: Conviction on the PlayStation 3? Well, as far as Ubisoft is concerned, it's merely a "wait and see" situation.

In speaking to VG247 , Conviction creative director Maxime Béland noted that Microsft "has been wonderful" in supporting the game for the Xbox 360 so for the time being, "we'll have to see what decisions are made by Ubisoft's management in the future." Now, we've seen more than a few pieces of evidence that supports the possibility of a PS3 version, including two industry employee CVs that specifically make mention of such a version. And remember, all Splinter Cell titles have eventually made their way to a PlayStation console, including the latest – Double Agent – back in 2006 and 2007. Conviction just launched a few days ago for the Xbox 360 and PC and it is pulling down some very favorable review scores, as most expected. PS3 owners will quickly point towards their own Metal Gear Solid series (which will go ultiplatform with Rising , anyway), but as we always say, Splinter Cell is a very different franchise. And in all honesty, it'd really be something worth having on the PS3.

Personally, I love me some Sam Fisher. I'll definitely be playing this bad boy at some point this year; that's a given.

So if you praise a near perfect game its because you're being paid off? Hmmm…..

Since I'm all single player, I won't buy a game that lasts me only 5 hours and doesn't even have incredibly awesome graphics.
So, I'd say, just bring it over to the PS3 with more content n whatnot so we can shove it up em xbots' faces, I still won't buy it though, it'll be for arguments sake only.

As mostly everyone and me included, do not really care less if it does show up on the PS3 I can say I would love to see L4D 1&2 on the PS3. Just bought those 2 for $20 a piece and am having a BLAST with them, but if Conviction did end up on the PS3 it would end up like Bioshock. Vastly updated and enhanced for a superior experience on a superior machine.

I'm playing this on "realistic" and it plays a lot more like the old Splinter Cell games and like the Ubisoft guys said, the mark and execute is not a "win" button, you're always on the lookout for a hand to hand takedown to gain one.Co-op is a blast and is where this game really shines, the teamwork to take down all enemies without detection is really tense.I dont really understand all the xbot talk in here, i thought this place was fanboi free, ah well, there's always a couple shooting from the mouth and not the brain first.

of course it's coming. they'd be fools not to bring it to ps3. unless microsoft fitted them with a money sombrero.
30+ million potential customers can't just be cast by the wayside.
i'd give it a shot if it came to ps3, the last SC i played was the one where you were on a cargo boat and have to scan crates' ID tags or something…on PS2 or GameCube.

I want this Splinter Cell for the co-op. Disarming a bomb with a buddy in Chaos Theory's co-op was super ultra intense, because you were like, "Okay buddy, don't mess up, because I don't want to start all over again… and again…"

lol I remember starting over, and over, and over, and over because my partner would screw up the timing when dissarming the bombs. Chaos Theory was done right with awesome campaign and CO OP!

I do wan't a crack at this game. Like Ben, I've been a fan of the Splinter Cell series. I played the original game on the Xbox several times, including playing through on a harder difficulty. As for the sequels. I thought Pandora Tommorow was okay, but Chaos Theory rocked. On the Xbox, Chaos Theory looked nearly like a current gen game at a lower res. The A-developer team (the Montreal guys?) got the game design nailed just right with Chaos Theory. I read that Conviction is a pretty radical change for the series. I hope they don't change too much of what I loved about the originals. I also read, Conviction is pretty short, like real short.

Anyhow, I have no doubts Conviction will show up on PS3, sooner or later. I just hope the team does the port justice and doesn't have to make concessions for the different development environment. I remember, specifically, reading on CVG that a dev said they were custom tailoring the game's design to the 360's architecture. That fact has me a little concerned. But who knows, Team Ninja managed to re-tool NG2 for the design strengths of the PS3 and came up with a better version of the same game… Don't let me down Ubisoft.

I didn't know PSX had these many Xbox haters…all this childish Xbot talk in some of the previous comments…come on, why would you not want more games on the PS3. This console war thing has to be the most pointless thing after gang violence, war, etc. Seriously, PS3 owner shouldn't be mad at this 'exclusive' Splinter Cell, but more or less at Microsoft and Ubisoft for their money hungry ways. I would love to try this game out, but I don't have a Xbox or a PC thats up to date. I just hope it comes earlier than those late a** GTA IV episodes, won't be picking those up, thats for sure. If Conviction doesn't come out in 3 months for PS3, I won't purchase it, but I will rent it. Is it me or does it seem like people who work for Ubisoft would be annoying? I am basing this off that fat bearded guy who represnted ACII because I was annoyed by him. LMAO

When I said the game sucked and that i didn't want it to come to the Ps3?

read my comments I just posted about how xbots in another forums hype this game to the moon because isn't in the Ps3, game is good and fun but short also I'm not alone in this opinion..a bunch of people canceled their preorders because they didn't want to pay for 5 hours sp.

this game is a good rental or better wait and get it for 29.99.

Ah I see, if you're not ruling out a PS3 version……THEN WHY DID YOU EVEN BOTHER MAKING IT ON THE 360 AND PC ONLY?!?!

Just like Bioware, screw them.

If you release a game on the 360 and PC, most PS3-only owners will get the PC version and when the PS3 version comes out, it won't sell that well and developers will be like "oh releasing it on the PS3 ain't gonna sell many copies"

I have SC1, Chaos Theory, Pandora Tomorrow, & Double Agent on my "bot's box", so I usually try to keep a series in the same console collection.

But If they add stuff & polish it up, then it's def' a buy for my PS3 too.

if there going to do it, fine but announce it soon.
there is no point releasing a game months after its original release because most who wanted to play it would of already done so.
have to say im a little disappointed that its not as stealth driven as previous chapters but that was expected, but it certainly is the most story driven of the series.
quite a good story line, only bad thing is there is very large leaps between scenes and you dont get to see what happened.
like you finish a level, than you go back in a cut scene to sams past than move forward and never go back there.
its like hey WTF? why are you leaping around like a drunk time machine operator?
if your going to show me past scenes at least make them relevant and explain why their shown, and what they have to do with now.

all i ask is PLEASE add a few extra missions.
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is such a fun game, the most fun i have had playing a game in such a long time but its so freaking short!
why do the best games have to be so freaking short?
5 hours man that is freaking BS!
4 freaking years to create a 5 hour game you have got to be kidding me!

^^^Yeah, 4 years for a 5 hour game is pretty lame and to top it off, they did it to cater to the multiplayer crowd…this multiplayer trend is ruining quality gaming, but at least Sony exclusives deliver when is comes to single player. UC2 and KZ2 blended both realms of gaming the best (Single player and multiplyaer).

It's a great game. You're missing out if you don't play it. The graphics are fair especially the vista shots of Washington D.C. The story isn't bad either.

All the Xbox hate is pure ignorance and stupidity. This console war crap is not only immature, but embarrassing to the industry. Get over it and over yourselves. Play games and enjoy games.

On a note of games being exclusives. Without game exclusives there would be no competition between consoles. Without exclusives there would be no need for multiple systems because everything could be released on a single system. Competition breeds excellence and there is excellence on all the consoles this generation. If you miss out on any of them that's your loss. If you have the opportunity to play all the games on each system. Then do it because it's definitely worth it.
