We always enjoy promoting anything that promotes creativity amongst gamers; anything that makes them think and – God forbid – even write.
We know that most of you really enjoyed our 2009 Best Downloadable Game winner, Flower . And we wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if some of you had some interesting stories to tell concerning that game; it's singularly relaxing and could indeed have a very positive impact. If you're one of those who would like to talk about your experience with the game, you should enter the Flower Experience Contest ; the rules are listed in that PS Blog entry. They're asking you to submit an essay (2000 words or less) about how Flower has had a positive impact on your life; e-mail the submission to my***********@th*************.com before 9 a.m. PST on April 28. The author of the winning entry will receive a $20 PSN gift card and the honor of having the essay posted at the PlayStation Blog. It should be an interesting contest and personally, I'll want to read the winning entry; I can see Flower as being one of those games that has had a profound influence on an individual. It's just so…you know?
I love the title, of course, but I can't claim to be one of those people. I'd almost want to submit just 'cuz I love creative writing, but I'm pretty sure that would be wrong. 😉

Maybe I should play this. I was hoping they would put it on sale for $5.
They already did, do you not check the PSN every Thursday?
I LOVE Flower
lol woa this is INTENSE. How FlOwEr had an impact on my life? O_O Yes flower was nice but it didn't turn me vegetarian or stopped war throughout the world XD
Talk about an extrem consequence to playing a small dlc game lol.
Other than beeing relaxing and musically enjoyable… Flower didn't have an impact on my life lol. I am starting to have all those funny ideas about how maybe some guy out there was out to kill his whole family after a KZ2 session but thanks to a FLOWER session… He was able to avoid the worst case scenario and spared his family. And that is how, thanks to flower, he can still enjoy a quality life with his family.

If I had played it I would probably enter, that's a pretty slim reward but I guess 2000 words isn't many. I'd like to read the winner too.
I've played it and I wouldn't write 2000 words about it. I do enough writing, I'm not doing even more for $20 bux. Maybe for a pack of hotdogs.
"an essay about how Flower has had a positive impact on your life"
I don't think it would really take an "essay" to explain the positive effect Flower has had on my life.
It taught me not to buy over hyped PSN games. Now my life is filled with savings.
I get the feeling you only sleep with a blanket, no sheets.
I'd love to read the winning entry too. It'd probably be a good laugh.
What do they think us gamers are, a bunch of spaced out flower power hippies?
"I used to do 8 lines of cocaine every night to get my twitch gaming skills amped up for MW2 sessions, but then I discovered Flower. Now I only smoke weed."
Flower on weed, there's an essay.
"Flower chaaaanged ma life."
a game that makes you think?
count me in!
thats why im enjoying splinter cell conviction so much, you cant just run and gun or cover camp throughout the whole game.
its amazing how easily you get over run.
enter a room, take out 3 enemies and all of a sudden theres 30 more pounding your ass!
splinter cell conviction has to be the 2nd best game ive played this year, first obviously being heavy rain.
nice to see a game that really makes you think before you act!
I'll go do that tomorrow, first I'll go work.
