New Studio Killspace Entertainment Evidently Opens Doors

New game studios are always exciting…especially when they have super cool names.

You probably haven't heard of Killspace Entertainment but you just might some time soon. As noted by Superannuation , it appears that Killspace Entertainment is a new video game development studio that's currently working on two new projects. You can view their semi-freaky website but you won't find much besides a quick – and very vague – trailer. If you check out that Digital Development Management brochure through the former link, though, you'll see that Killspace is toiling away on one "Original IP with major publisher" and one "Licensed IP – TBA." We don't know anything about these projects but the games in question are apparently for "Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, iPhone, and Facebook." Joystiq took it a step further and checked LinkedIn, where we find that Killspace has already recruited employees from places like Obsidian Entertainment, EALA, Red 5 and the now-defunct Pandemic Studios. The focus? "3rd and 1st-person character action" titles.

Okay, so what do you think? Maybe we should keep an eye out for a few potentially promising new IPs from this new studio…

You don't even have to read the article to know they will be making shooters. Just look at the logo.

completely agree Jawknee, now we have had the rampage of RPG's we now need some good platform games, the last platforming game i enjoyed was Jax and Daxter 1, i did not like how they made 2&3 into a sandbox shooter… as for Ratchet and Clank, i never got into them at all.

Hey Killspace, there's two guys from IW looking for jobs. You'd be wise to invest.

Oh, and drop the stupid iPhone games idea.

I love Metal Gear Solid Touch. Fun when I'm waiting some where.

Final Fantasy I and II are on the iPhone as well as Mega Man 2. Fun on the go!

Apparently they were picked up by EA to start a new development company.

And the EA/Activision war continues…

Anytime a game studio says facebook, I feel sick to my stomach. Hopefully only one of the games will head that direction and perhaps the new IP will be uber awesome.

hmmm sounds like a download only styled game.
nice to see a studio opening for a change instead of closing down, but ill remain skeptical till i see some credentials.

hmm sounds like we got another generic software studio producing shooters…yay?

we will see what these guys are working on, but i cant for the life of me understand the obsession this generation of software designers have with shooters….there are soo frigggin many , that to me shooters are being "lara croft'd" ..

iPhone and Facebook? I'd like to see them make wonderful ports of whatever concole games they're making. Here's to hoping they do something unique and exciting.
