It's eerie just how accurate the Madden franchise has been in predicting the outcome of the playoffs and Super Bowl every year, and now, we have to see about the simulation skills of NCAA Basketball 2010 .
Well, according to Kotaku , the game produced a simulated CPU vs. CPU emulation of the current NCAA men's title game between Duke and Butler (currently at halftime on CBS). Well, Duke cruised to an 84-61 win on Owen Good's Xbox 360; Duke "dictated a faster-paced game" and ruled the boards, and Butler only managed to shoot 39% from three-point range. But this appears to be off by a good amount…it's 33-32 in favor of the Blue Devils at halftime but in the game, it was 44-32. However, Butler did manage to draw within 6 with about 11 minutes to go, so perhaps the game accurately predicts the underdog's ability to hang with Duke…at least for a while. The author says the game was played "with current dynamic update files" but as of now, the real game on the court is a heck of a lot closer. The question is whether or not Duke will pull away in the second half; maybe they'll really speed things up and beat on Butler, but right now, it doesn't seem likely. If you're watching the game right now, it'll be interesting to see that final score.
These sports sims can indeed be pretty darn accurate. It doesn't appear to be working so well tonight but it's still fun to compare.

I wish, thus far it's a very even game. I'm biased but I still think the officiating thus far has been terrible.
Bias or not, no one can argue that the officiating was good during the championship game.
LOL
I think it is so weird that video games are now used as a near accurate representation of predicting winning players and teams. I'll never understand why people take this so seriously.
In Australia, Rugby League 3 on Wii would never be used to predict Grand Final results. It just sounds so silly, but hey, it's what makes you Americans so darn interesting. 🙂
Nothing on Wii should be taken seriously
Plenty about the Wii can be taken seriously. It's fun for those that don't try so hard to be something they are not.

Bingo!! The Wii isn't about being taken seriously, but having fun in the moment.
The Wii is about kids and grandmothers.
tehehehe Duke won, I'm happy nananana!
LV, didn't watch it, so just curious here…..
how much was the actual score off from the video game's own score???
59 – 61
LoL. wow.
butler was inches away from an upset of the century
huh funny since the first thing my cuz taught me when playing madden NFL is always do the opposite play to what madden tells you to.
i wonder when there going to put the euphoria physics engine into their sports games, i remember watching qore a while ago and they had a interview on it.
the same physics engine star wars the force unleashed uses, the most advanced physics engine out there!
