Initially, it was one of the most anticipated future PlayStation 3 titles. Then, it went multiplatform and got delayed…then it got delayed again.
Now, Tecmo Koei apparently doesn't intend to launch Quantum Theory until the summer. You probably forgot but it was supposed to release last month, but perhaps the publisher didn't want to compete with the likes of God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII . We had hoped it wouldn't get pushed too far but that vague "Summer 2010" date – as revealed by DualShockers – doesn't exactly inspire one with a lot of confidence. It's still better than "TBA 2010" and the summer does appear to be a little light in terms of potential blockbusters, but even so, we sense a lacking of hype in the gaming community. It seems that every time we talk about it, the readers are just plain disappointed in the development process surrounding this game, despite its well-advertised possibilities. We still think it looks a lot like Gears of War ; that's not necessarily a bad thing, as awesome as Gears is, but we're wondering if that's causing some design problems.
But we like to remain optimistic. We're hoping Quantum Theory turns out to be every bit as good as we once expected and as we said, summer should be a decent time frame.

If you want a Gears of War style game, then get Gears of War on PC or 360. It's why I got my 360, plus, all my friends were on Halo 3 at the time, as much as I detest that game.
Gears 2 is unbelievably awesome, and I'm sure if you tried hard enough you could save for a 360 arcade and grab it cheap somewhere.
I've already got a 360 with Gears 2 and Gears 1 on PC. So… with God of War trilogy, FF XIII and a huge back log of games to complete, Quantum won't see any money from me. Not unless it gets huge praise from critics, and is considered a must-play.
Let us know what it's like Ben. Personally, I'm holding out for a Gears announcement for PS3. Might be some time, but I reckon it'll come. Epic can't ignore over 30 million potential customers.
I have both Gears games on the 360. I love them both but I have my reservations about Quantum Theory.
Mass Effect 2 ( i know: I can't say enough about that game) decisively flushes Gears down the toilet. I was holding on to my xbox, hesitantly, for Gears 3, until I played Bioware's title. Now I know I'm keeping it for sure, in hot anticipation for ME3. It takes the action of Gears, ramps it up by allowing you use your other characters, along with their special abilities, and giving you the chance to explore the sandbox-style worlds, but envelopes it in a worthwhile story, and an incredibly developed universe.
Strange thing is it takes nothing away from the quality that is found in Uncharted 2, which is surest litmus test (to me) of how ND's franchise surpasses Epic's.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, the clearest reason why U2 is a better game than even ME2 (besides U2's superior visuals, presentation, and finely tuned gameplay), is that after playing ME2 once, playing it a 2nd time is a bit of drag. Yet, I'm on 3rd playthrough of U2, and it is just as fun as when I played the first time.
Sorry for being OT, but I had to throw that in.
Don't shoot me, but i bought a 360 to play gears one and two. Now i won't like the gameplay was extremly fun, but I was really disappointed in the lack of story. They headed in a vaguely interesting direction in the first one, talking about marcus' father and all that, and his incarceration, then they drop it all, focus on dom and his wife, kill some giant thing at the end, and the game is over. I was like, why the hell did i play this game. I promptly gave away my x360 after trying mass effect (although interesting, it couldn't hold my attention long enough. I did enjoy fable II, it was short lived but fun.
Sigh… again … M$ft doesn't own the Gears of War brand like it does with Halo, so Epic can do whatever it likes.
I actually forgot this game existed. Hell, I even forgot about its trailer I saved onto my PS3 HDD…

I'm going out on a limb to suggest this, but I think the fact this is now a multiplat is what's making it take longer to release. Now they have to make sure the former exclusive game runs on the same level for both consoles. I'm gonna say the same thing I said about FFXIII, DMC4, GTA4, and Tekken 6: "IT SHOULD'VE STAYED EXCLUSIVE" (v_v)
I noticed they renamed it back to Quantum Theory, this game is gonna belly flop like a fat man at the pool.
LOL, World, you crack me up.
More like a fat man farting in pool: Less of a spectacle, but a tad more disgusting to anyone who happens to notice it.
I remember when this was first announced I was interested. A lot has changed since then. Now I look at it and go, meh, doubtful.
@ sonic1899 and kraygen
It seems that happens with every title that starts off as exclusive and goes multiplat. FF 13 was definately one of them for me.
Gow 3 and Uncharted 2 have a certain 'something' because they are exclusive.

Was never a fan of Gears of War, so this game isn't even on my radar.
The more negative stuff I hear about QT, the more I'll be keeping it's adoption papers at bay.
Unless QT can WOW us if and when it ever comes out, I think there's just too much risk in even associating with this "now multi-platted", "problem-child".
Wait for a review, then make up your mind.
I did that with Just Cause 2, didn't want it at first, played it on my friend's PC, now I really want it. It really is THAT much fun!!!
JC2 is on my radar, too. I suspect it'll satisfy my spidey sand-box fix until inFamous 2.
Its so addicting haha
Dancemachine,
Oh, I keep an eye out on for the potential of games that might become lil stinkers, but unless it can "demo"strate that it's been properly potty trained on the PS3 too……
then I don't want any poop-stain sliders stinking up any of my gaming consoles.
Just saying, LMAO
And BTW, I thought JC2 would be great, so it's blips always were always high-lighted on my radar's scope.
sorry teamco, but 3 strikes and your out.
i had serious doubts in my mind, but this made my decision a sh*t load easier!
quantum theory has gone from a wait and see from reviews to a miss.
now for a simple question.
is it possible for a game to come out without ever being delayed?
honestly if i had one cent for every time a game got delayed i would be the richest man in the world!
hell scrap every game, just DNF alone has had enough to make me the richest man alive, not to mention GT5 SPC or even alan wake.
……
I'm still gonna look forward to this game because it has co-op.
The whole thing just looks generic and cartoonish to me. Not interested. Please feel free to delay further.
I really don't care a lot about delays, as long as that makes the game better in any way. Taking away a PS3 game's exclusivity with a delay certainly doesn't make it better, in any way.
So, I say nay.
My First ever Psxextreme comment n it has to be a negative one.Epic to the power fail…This game looks horrific

meh, who cares. Don't like Gears, don't care for a Gears wannabe.
It just looks cheesy. It seems to be a parody of GeoW
