Right now, Sony and Microsoft are scrambling to entice publishers with their respective motion sensing technologies.
Now, according to the[a]listdaily , 2K Sports has opted to support the PlayStation Move in the future. Vice President of Marketing Jason Argent was asked if they would be implementing any motion sensing technology into upcoming editions of their MLB 2K franchise (or any other franchise). The response was simple: "Yes…stay tuned!" He wouldn't go into detail concerning the company's plans but it appears we're looking at another major publisher who plans to support Move, and it makes sense that a sports developer would entertain the idea. Furthermore, Argent spoke about the competition – Sony's MLB: The Show series – and he explained how it pushed his team to make necessary improvements and enhancements to the 2K set of games. Said Argent:
"I'm a strong believer that competition makes you better, and nowhere does that hold more true than with our MLB 2K franchise. From both the marketing and game development standpoints we upped our game this year in every way, and we believe the fans see and appreciate that. In many ways developing this year's campaign was easier because the objective was simple: Convince people to play our game because we believe that once they do, they'll love it and see how good it really is. The mandate was to make some noise."
Well, the inclusion of Move will certainly gain the attention of PS3 owners, and we're expecting more publishers to leap on board before the year is out. Remember, Sony delayed the launch of their tech in order to have more Move-compatible games available at the time of release, so it's good to hear about more game designers embracing the concept.
Anyone play MLB 2K10? I heard it wasn't that good, but it would be hard to be as quality as The Show.
