If you're into massive mechs and alien environments, you're likely prepared to purchase Lost Planet 2 .
But if you're not yet convinced, you'll want to check out the multiplayer demo that should hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace some time soon. And if the mere sampling of the big title isn't enough incentive, how's about an exclusive weapon? According to Joystiq , Capcom has confirmed that the "MG SP" can be yours in the final game provided there's a save file of the demo on your machine. This will be the only way to obtain this gun so if you want the complete Lost Planet 2 experience, you'll basically have no choice but to download the upcoming demo. The MG SP can "stagger opponents with a single shot and prevent them from squeezing off shots of their own with subsequent hits." That ought to come in handy, right? The game in question will be available on May 18; it was delayed earlier but we believe in giving developers all the time necessary to produce a quality product.
It may have to compete with the likes of Red Dead Redemption and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands in May, but there's little doubt that Lost Planet 2 will be popular amongst the mech aficionados.

Red Dead Redemption for me it is!
Crapcom pretty much assured ill never buy one of their games again(unless its another Tatsunoko vs Crapcom installment) with their "oh sorry, we had to cut content because the DVD is too small, but hey, well be extra nice and sell it back to you for $4.99!" scheme.
I'll buy another installment of a Mega Man X series! lol I love Mega Man X. I remember getting the first one on SNES when I was 7. I specifically recall the memory! It was in the first house I grew up in… my dad came back from a business trip to Toronto (lived in Nova Scotia at the time) and as a gift, he brought home Mega Man X. I loved it so much. I open the gift in the family room while sitting on a grey couch. I loved that game so much, that I even persuaded my mom to make me a Mega Man X costume for Halloween! I'll probably talk to her this weekend… if she still has the photo, I'll definitely post it or something. lol
MegaMan X went down hill when they went 3D in my opinion.
Does your MegaMan X costume look like the one Frank West puts on in Tatsunoko vs Capcom? ha

I wish developers noticed that some gamers are not preordering as many games as they used to because of cut content DLC. They are simply waiting for the pricecut of the game then purchase and download.
I hope there are a significant amount of these gamers out there. Developers and publishers will rethink their strategy to making a complete game.

Why do they put out multiplayer only demos? They did this with the first one too.
I wouldn't buy the game for the MP, so why would a MP demo make me want to buy the game??
Anyway, I didn't play the first one, and I doubt I will be getting this one either.
They released a demo a few months ago that was SP I believe. I remember playing it and not liking it.
You are correct LV. I downloaded that same demo a few months ago. it was very ugly and the game play was very meh..
Yeah I totally missed that one…
You can see how interested I am in this game.
Thanks guys.
Funny, I'm into massive mechs and alien environments in a big way, and yet I'm not prepared to purchase LP2.
Of course a free bonus for simply playing a demo is pretty good.
Yeah, that's an interesting way to offer the bonus. I'd also like to see save files carry over on some of the games that release demos early. Maybe they will think of doing that for the demos they are discussing charging for, I don't know.
I bet a company could make a huge viral splash by releasing dlc codes gradually over the course of months before the release. Limited Edition items that only the receivers of the first 25,000 codes get to unlock. Ever.
Sorry, ranting and thinking out loud again. Sounds fun, though.
When they announced the game had exclusive contents for Xbox, I lost a little interest.
When they announced that contents have to be cut from PS3 version because of DVD size, yet STILL want to maintain the exclusive content on Xbox version. I lost ALL interest.
Why would a crappy gun make me want to buy the game now?
I like how more games are beginning to offer in-game incentives to people that pre-order or are loyal to a title (ie. in-game item for FFXIV, pre-ordering a copy of ModNation from certain stores, and now this demo). Hope to see more of that!

nice incentive, but the gameplay and controls on the first one were so terrible to me, that unless the second one has had a complete turn around I'm not interested.
They gave us a lousy port of the first game, inferior to the other versions. Won't be buying this one.
Well, I'm not really interested in this game, or the MP demo either, but I'll need it for my collection.
And I'll DL the demo just so I'll have the gun too, once I've found the game under a $20 used price range.
No hurry Saint but just a heads up I'm moving into a new place on the 15th of May. You're more than welcome to keep Ico longer than that I'll just email you my new address if you need more time.
Do you plan on owning every game ever made?
he doesn't already?
LV you arent getting that game back
Although the game does look pretty, I'm not interested.
LV,
OK, thanks for the heads-up.
Yeah, let me keep it a little longer, been so frigging busy working & running my motorcycle club, I haven't gotten to play through it as much as I would've liked to.
And besides, by returning it to you after you moved, it will be this cheap guy's way of sending you a housewarming gift, LOL
You still got my addy so you can send me your new one, right?
World
That is my wish, but I've only got a little over 1400 games out of 1000's already out there.
And unless I win the lottery, I seriously doubt I've been making anything more than a very large dent towards all my collections.
Jawknee,
Hell, with 532 games in my PS1 collection, I'm still only 1/4 of the way there, especially since there's around 2000.
And out of my original Xbox & PS2, I've only got close to 300 for each one, out of around 1800 for each.
And the seeing that I've already pushed the ripe old age of 57…there's so little time left….(& so little money too, LOL)

MGS4 on psp > this game
FF(anything other than VIII) > FFVIII
psxe > limitedvertigo 😉
LOL
psxe – limitedvertigo = 0/2
What are you gay? FFVIII rules!
BEN! World called me gay!
It still says MGS4…
I edited it to say MGS: Peace Walker…
Gotta go with Limited here. Whenever I played VIII, I felt as if I should be playing in a closet somewhere. Still can't really explain why I felt that way.
It's because Squall was a candy ass.
I say nay.
Third person shooters I like, though the SP demo didn't really impress me, and I play games for single player, since that got cut down to dvd size, I sigh and say never mind.
The idea of giving people free things for playing demos is good though.
Although I might have the money for it, Job interview this sunday! I'll still not get it.
No garbage please. I do like the idea of the demo having stuff in it that makes the final product better.
there is already one up there unless there will be another one
i really enjoyed lost planet so ive been looking forward to this for a while.
the boss battles i mean wow they look freaking huge, like titan huge!
guess i timed my holiday perfectly, i get back the day before this, red dead redemption and PoP.
oh, and how could i forget a little game called.
MOD NATION RACERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hello …
the 1st demo was coop & even if a bit repetitive action, quite nice environment. now after seeing the latest released games, the GFX seem dated but i remember having fun with the demo, i just hated to see that same monster face as on the videos.
even if GOW3 demo too had a lot of video coverage i liked it better.
I liked LP1, i tried a PC version & LP2 seem quite OK, dunno if i'll wait for price cut-down, i'm sure i'll download that demo to see if things get better.
cheers!
