Ben-DutkaAlthough some critics believe the awesome online portion of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 actually surpasses that of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , Infinity Ward boss Robert Bowling isn't worried.
Reviews for EA's recent shooters have often stated that the online multiplayer mode is good enough to take MW2 addicts away from their game, but in terms of overall popularity in 2010, Bowling believes BC2 is no threat. He also isn't worried about upcoming FPSs like Medal of Honor and the new Call of Duty ; according to CVG , the addition of today's Stimulus Pack DLC has helped solidify MW2's widespread popularity. When asked if any game could knock MW2 off its lofty perch, Bowling replied:
"No. I hope not. I certainly don't see any signs of it. We've been number one since launch and this map pack [Stimulus – released today] is going to bring even more people to playing MW2 and extend their play time. I don't see it slipping any time soon."
As for future competition, Bowling says they won't concern themselves with that; they'll "just focus on providing for our audience who love our brand of game." There's little doubt that millions have enjoyed – and will continue to enjoy – Modern Warfare 2 's robust online mode, but perhaps time is the only enemy of Infinity Ward. No game may beat out MW2 in terms of sheer users but over time, everything fades. It's not just the way of the industry; it's the way of life. Sorry to be all depressing.

Another reason why MW2 is garbage, and I prefer BC2. Bigger Maps, Better Weapons, Mature People usually, Vehicles, and FREE DLC.

MW2, as stated in the article, is on a "lofty perch." It didn't get there because it's garbage nor did it get there because people hate it. Quite the contrary. The game is a fantastic good time.
Acting like fanboys saying that a gamer can only enjoy MW2 or BC2 but not both, is childish. I say long live good online fps.

It got there because it is, and will continue to be the most over-rated game EVER. It would be different if MW2 wasn't broken, didn't say F U to PS3 users, and actually not live up the hype.

mmmmmm, nah BFBC2 is still better than MW2.
but if you ask me KZ2 is still by far the best multiplayer game out there, in fact the MP modes were the only part of KZ2 that did not disappoint me.
hopefully GG will spend more time on the story and SP modes, and less on MP modes.
i remember reading a interview like mid 08 and one of their devs said they have like 70% of their team working on the MP from the start and will to the game releases.
thats way to much especially considering GG are a fairly small studio.
More players does not mean it is the better online game, it just reflects a sad fact of life, that the majority of people are idiot sheep with blinkers on.

Majority….No. The plus side is that while the kids play MW2, it keeps them away from spoiling other online games.

They will continue their reign on PSN, but thei XBL number one spot will disappear soon enough… it would be even more amusing if it was by the beta and not even the full release. Activision has really pulled some crap this generation
