Everyone seems to be talking about Just Cause 2 . That's because it might be a lot better than people expected and it just released a few days ago.
Usually, we don't bother with weird albeit interesting tidbits from games – particularly those we're about to review – but this is just too cool to ignore. According to some of those who have already been gorging themselves on the rampant destruction in the gigantic world of JC2, there's a very familiar island included. As you'll see at PS3Attitude , the entire island from the hit TV show, "LOST," appears to be in the game! And we're not talking about bits and pieces; we're talking about the whole thing, from edge to edge and shore to shore. You can fly above it, land on it and explore to your heart's content but don't expect to find any bizarre monsters in the woods. We've heard about sweet Easter Eggs before but this is above and beyond the call of duty; then again, the entire game appears to be "above and beyond" so it certainly fits with the style. The only question I have is, what kind of chaos can we cause on this island? Is there stuff to do or is it just for show?
Even if you're not a fan of the show in question, you have to admit that it's a pretty awesome feature. And by the way, you can expect our review around the start of next week.
Related Game(s): Just Cause 2
I've had a few people on my psn friendslist inform me of this, but I had no idea it was this huge! This almost is the deciding factor on whether I'm going to buy this game or not.

That's pretty sweet. I'm picking it up as soon as I'm done with XIII. I loved the demo and it's been getting great reviews.
You will never be done with XIII.
It decides when it is done with you.

lol @ Nightmar. I was planning on picking this up some time in April I guess after finishing FF13 as well, and maybe after Resonance of Fate. Might just have to wait till summer though. But this is pretty frickin sweet!
hmm…if I would have ever watched an episode of Lost, it'd be cool I guess.
trust me , give the show a chance, but you gotta watch it all from the start to see the whole thing, it is by far the best show i have seen in my life been watching it since season 1…and this final season is beyond crazy good, loving it…
i thought i was going to be depressed post-lost era watching tv series, but flashforward is looking beyond good, even good enough for me to say that it seriously can compete with lost in terms of uberness from my point of view
I love Lost too.
Don't get too attached to Flash Forward. I like this show, but the ratings are beyond horrible.
That said, last week's two-hour Flash Forward was awesome because there were some pretty big reveals.
@Irievibes
Twin Peaks, Sopranos? ….really?
Most definitely Twin Peaks … if it weren't for Lynch's masterpiece, I probably never would have given Lost a chance, (I rarely watch television, if at all).
Twin Peaks is the father of all these shows we speak of and the creators will tell you the same.
This game rocks…story sucks, but you dont play it for the story. the game mechanics are awesome.
totally agree with backatcha. the story is terrible due to the very very horrible voice acting and lack of depth but, FUN AS HELL TO PLAY! controls could be a bit better but you'll get used to them. IMO……….8 or 8.5 if your generous.

I'm actually starting to get interested in this, it just sounds like causing chaos in the massive sandbox could be more addicting than in any other similar title around. I think I'm going to try the first game first.
Don't watch Lost, sounds too out there and ridiculous.

you have watched flashforward? abcs new series? if you like that , you will like lost too, gotta watch the whole thing though, you have to see the characters backgrounds to understand a lot of it, and the island is…..complicated but a treat to watch (think its shot in hawaii, nevertheless beautiful place)
Nah, I'm more into stuff like Criminal Minds, Dexter, Burn Notice, Californication, and Spartacus.
ah i like dexter and burn notice very much too, mmm fiooona..mmmmmm
@worlds
I hear ya , I used to love Lost but last season especially last episode killed it for me .
Just cause one was awesome , so 2 will be upper awesome .
WARNING!: HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. I PLAYED FOR 6 HOURS STRAIGHT! just BS'n around like when ur playing gta.
Good taste in shows there, World. I watch and love all of those (as well as another 20 shows or so; I watch WAY too much TV).
I used to love Lost. I still like it but it's so far out there now that it has lost (no pun intended) some of its enjoyment. I'm actually glad they're finally wrapping it up.
if you want, il sell it 2 you for $10…
lol had it since a month after its release, and still haven't played it… i am of course talking bout JC1
The truly sad fact: Ubisoft's Lost game doesn't include "the whole thing, from edge to edge and shore to shore" and you can't "explore [the island] to your heart's content" in it.
What? I got it for $4.
This game looks great. Sure hope they don't get sued over this.
So, in other words, you fear they didn't get legal authority to add this copyrighted island on their game?
If they DIDN'T, then they deserve to get sued. There would be Just Cause 2 close down their whole studio for a moronic move like that.
Now we need Isla Nublar in there.
*Hums Jurassic Park theme*
would be so epic.
Hmmm, hum, hum, hum, hum, hum, hummmmmmm… Hmmm, Hum, hum…. Wait, that's Back to the Future….
Oh well.
Hmmm, hum,hum,hum,hum,hum,hummmmmmm…
to be fair, it would be cool running from raptors while torching half the jungle with a flamethrower
looks interesting, is there a demo to this? loved how you could just downright go around causing mayhem in infamous, might like this for stress relief lol
Yeah… the demo has been out for a few weeks now. I definitely recommend checking it out!
NO WAY! My roommate and I were just joking about the Lost island being in the game earlier then I came and read this article. It's also another excellent multiplatform game, the graphics don't shine but the HUGE game world and limitless uses for the grappling hook and parachute more than make up for it, not to mention the 104 vehicles! I haven't been able to put the controller down.
i was really looking forward to playing this…………. till i read IGNs review.
allot of developers have been doing this lately, and i can not understand how the hell they keep getting away with it.
IGN in their review said the missions have NO checkpoints, only the longer ones do half way through.
so if you die bye bye start all over again.
WTF?
THE FU**ING PS1 FOR FU**S SAKE HAD FU**ING CHECKPOINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why do developers do this?
i thought the whole point of playing a game was to have FUN!
so can someone tell me what part of going to a mission, starting a mission getting 3/4s of the way through dying and having to walk back to the mission and restart all over again.
can anyone tell me what part of that sounds like fun?
sounds like pissing out a kidney stone would be more pleasant!!!!
why?
just why!!!!!!!!!!
why do developers have to destroy their games like this?
they create such a brilliant game and destroy it with something so simple and stupid.
like darksiders with its million and one puzzles i felt like i was playing freaking chess!
or uncharted 2 with its stupid take cover and roll as the same button.
its like having self destruct and engine start as the same button!
or GOW3 such a brilliant game, fu**ed by the unresponsive controls and fu**ed camera!
come on guys, im begging you here!
im on my hands and knees here, for once JUST ONCE can someone release a fun game with no drawbacks?
once, just once thats all im asking!
I can totally understand where you're coming from. Restarting over and over again is quite frustrating but for me, with this game, who knows if I'll even play that many missions? This is just one of those games that you screw around with because its so balls-to-the-walls fun.
you lost 100 internets by reading IGN
you lost 1,000,000 internets by actually paying attention to their comedic relief jokes of a reviews…
IGN sucks, there are no ifs ands or buts about it, most people playing are loving it…so if i were you id listen to what players that actually PAYED for the game feel…
nevertheless, im waiting for ben or arnolds review, anything ign says is worthless in my book
what does it matter who wrote the review?
fact is there are no checkpoints in the missions except the longer missions towards the end of the game and they are extremely long.
hey, if you enjoy redoing the same sh*t over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again than fine, but i dont!
i cant believe developers are still doing this.
criterion did it with burnout paradise and fans grilled them for it, far cry 2 did it and fans grilled them for it and now avalanche studios are doing it?
its official game developers are the stupidest race on earth!
you would think they would learn from other studios mistakes but nope!
After the demo, I was planning on picking this up. Now I'm DEFINITELY getting it. I just have to wait for the price to drop. There's not many games I can afford to get at full price anymore these days (God of War III was an exception; the next will probably be The Last Guardian).
I'm really happy to see Eidos picking up their game. THIS is the Eidos I remember. They even started to get better again before they were officially bought-out by Square Enix (Batman: Arkham Asylum).
Now with this and Batman under their belts, I'm starting to feel better about their next Tomb Raider effort (apparently there will be another Tomb Raider after that Lara Croft PSN game). Now all I need is for Eidos to bring back is LEGACY OF KAIN!!! Whether it's Soul Reaver or Blood Omen (or even Defiance), I'll totally be there with my $60 in hand!
Its in Hawaii!
That's pretty tight.
Been playing this since day one and I love it. Just tweak the controls ever so slightly and its perfect control. I now have over 150 headshots, woot. Flying, driving, boating, smashing, crashing, exploding, fun. Man I'm having a blast.
I'd probly give it around an 8 to 8.5
Haven't actually stopped to consider everything but the graphics are only average for today, which is still good, but not like heavy rain, ya know.
But man fun factor gets a 12 out of 10.
It's like GTA San Andreas but with spys instead of gangsters and a lot lot more to do.
"We have to go back, Kate!"
"We have to go BACK!"
Frackin' awesome. This just jumped onto my must purchase list.
One of the best dramas ever, and THE best show on TV right now. Anyone who says it's "silly" or "too far out there" probably has ADD and can't sit through many shows without constant fart jokes or explosions. Not that I don't enjoy those types of shows as well 🙂
The writing, acting, pacing, setting and cinematography are top-notch. But it's definitely a show that requires a bit of diligence from its viewers. But those that put in the time and pay attention are rewarded time and again with an enthralling world of mystery and hope.
Kudos to Avalanche. Obviously fans of the show.
I never watched lost but that island is there and you can't fly over it without blowing up and it's full of weird and creepy things.
I didn't get any video uploaded from there but for those interested in the game here is a link to one of my vids and you should be able to click my user name (kraygen) and see my other just cause 2 vids.
I only have just cause 2 vids and I only have 3 of them so far.
Here's my link
The voice acting is some of the worst I've ever heard.
This game will be the one that gets the words "JetJacked" & "Helojacking" added into the Webster's Dictionary's 2011 edition.
