It debuted at last year's E3 and since then, we've been waiting for the official release date. We can't wait to get our hands dirty making our own karts and tracks, and let's not forget about that PS3/PSP connectivity feature. As is the case with LBP, custom user creations can be shared with the community, which means there should never be a shortage of new and unique tracks. Now, as announced at the PlayStation Blog , we know ModNation Racers will release here in the US – for both the PS3 and PSP – on May 25. Furthermore, if you're planning to pre-order the game, you might want to pay attention to the retailer-specific incentives: depending on where you drop your cash, you can nab either Ratchet and Clank, Nathan Drake, or Kratos. Pre-ordering from GameStop will get you Kratos and his Kart of Chaos, Amazon will allow you to race as either Ratchet or Clank, and Best Buy will give you Nathan Drake and his Jungle Jeep. Lastly, each pre-order will come with "an additional BONUS Mystery Mod and Kart package," so that's cool, too.
You won't know what that mystery is until you download it, so there's a bit of anticipation involved with your pre-order. There will be a total of four possibilities and pay attention to the Blog in the near future; they'll reveal those four at some point. Okay, so who's psyched for this one?

i love MNR but my may 25 with be filled with ufc undisputed 2010 (the only time youll ever see me purchase a multi plat over a ps3 exclusive. sorry sony ill pick it up later.

This looks really good. Nothing on earth will get me to pre-order from GameStop, but they've got the better incentive to be sure. Still, I'd be very happy with any of them. I hope Amazon or Wal-Mart has a good credit offer though. Store credit beats dlc in my books.

I'm with you 100% on that one. For some reason Amazon can offer games at a cheaper price AND offer store credits for pre-orders and still make a buck. On top of it, you don't have to talk to a jackass to get your stuff. Well… unless your mailman…
lol @ Kart of chaos. I'm not into Kart games but I hope they keep rolling with this P.C.S. idea, it's great for the system and is genre expanding. So what will be next for PCS? How about a goofy fun FPS maker? BigModShooter.
Bring RPG Maker VX to the PS3 so we can get a decent RPG? If devs won't do it, let the community do it.

if you like Kart Racers and Little Big Planet its definitely worth it, I can't tell you how amazing the creation stuff was JUST in the beta with limited resources, I can't wait to try out all the other features and bits and bobs.

I was luck enough to enjoy the beta for this game and holy crap am I excited. Seriously thought it looked interesting at e3 but as a bargain binner, but I was sooooo wrong.
On the beta we had limited options, seriously limited compared to the full version, however if you were creative it was sooo awesome.
Creating your avatars is so fun, I think I spent over 30 hours just making avatars. As you must know I'm a marvel comic fan, I was able to create deadpool, venom, electro, and several others with nothing but a blank canvas and stickers.
The vehicles are a lot of fun to create as well, so are the tracks. I thought it would be a little difficult but it was easy, so easy you probably won't believe it.
The carts were so much fun to drive and you have a button that allows you to drift. Good controls where easy to get used to.
Seriously if you ever enjoyed mario kart, you will love this. It's like LBP and mario kart, smashed together and mixed with speed and steroids. lol it was so much fun. Really looking forward to this one.
Side not, this is one of the few ps3 games that has some good old school split screen action. Bout time I say, miss me some split screen.

yeah! I was so glad to hear there was split screens. This could be a fantastic game to mess around with friends in, especially racing on tracks you yourself devised. oh the tortures I will put my fiends through.
from the beta I'm calling this one of the best Kart racers I've played in years. Every aspect was just so much fun.
I'm excited for the game, but not the DLC. The whole game is about making your own creations, so I know I'd never play with pre-made racers. This will be a great co-op for my library.

Wow, I would think once today ended, I was done with buying games for a long time. Looks like it will only last 5 weeks.
ModNation Racers is a definite buy on May 25 and I might also be picking up Super Mario Galaxy 2 two days earlier if I have a Wii. Part of a two month period starting April 27 that also sees the releases of SSF4, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Red Dead Redemption, Alpha Protocol and Metroid: The Other M. The Winter took a toll on my wallet (7 2010 releases bought), so will the Spring.
This is ANOTHER reason why the PS3 is my console of choice.
The PS3 offers me more original games that cannot be found anywhere else!!
I am looking forward to this title because I found it difficult to create cool things in LBP. Not because the tools are not great…
I am certain I will have better success in MNR because the content is racetracks, land, water, etc.
It just seems easier. MNR will blow up the Create & Share portion even more than LBP did I predict!
