Ex-Infinity Ward Execs Sign With Hollywood Talent Agency

The Activision/Infinity Ward blowup is going to take some time to reconcile and in the meantime, those who lost their jobs can't just sit around.

While ex-Infinity Ward execs Vince Zampella and Jason West were fired by Activision after a corporate falling out of some kind (full details have yet to be uncovered), you didn't think the guys would be standing in bread lines, did you? Their skills would be in high demand, so it should come as no surprise that both have signed on with Hollywood's biggest talent agency. As reported by the Los Angeles Times , Zampella and West are now proud clients of the Creative Artists Agency. Now, most game developers are not represented by talent agents so this is a bit of a different direction for CAA, and they say these guys "were pursued by at least one of the other top Hollywood agencies." Well, we may have driven them away from the gaming industry, which is bad news. We kinda want to keep such skilled, productive go-getters working on video games, although we should probably admit that Hollywood could certainly use a helping hand.  And at this point, Vince and Jason are probably a little disillusioned with the whole industry.

We'll be interested to hear how things go down in regards to the legal stuff, though. That mess oughta be fun to follow.

Eh, I think Sony should snatch em up and put them to use on something, doesn't have to be a shooter, I'm sure they'd be just as good as helping out with other things.

It really is a sad day indeed… nonetheless I am about to trade in my Infinity Ward products so I can pick up GoWIII and Red Ded Redemption… gotta replace the old with the new 🙂

Also the New Medal Of Honour looks the business 🙂

On the bright side, if they get used in hollywood we might actually see a movie that isn't a remake, based on a book, or based on a game. Woooooo, movies with original stories, who woulda thought.

It looks like these guys went with a talent agency to help them get a good deal on their next contract in the gaming industry. After what seems to have gone down with Activision, you can't blame them.

It's interesting to see Hollywood talent agencies reach out and represent a new market.

im sure they will be back once this whole mess is cleared up.
there too good at their job to leave it behind.
come to think of it, now that i have finished both MW2 and BFBC2 i can safely say the sh*t talking EA has been doing for the last 6 months is a load of utter crap!
as usual!
MW2 to me looked better, was more fun and lengthwise was just about the same.
both MW2s single player mode and multi player mode are much better than BFBC2s.

MW2s SP campaign has allot of action sequences that had your heart pounding a mile a minute, and the action just felt much more fast paced.
BFBC2s campaign really lacks spark, it just feels so slow paced and lifeless.

shame really because i really had high hopes for it after bad company i really enjoyed that game.
why did they remove the openness of the battlefield?
why did they remove the health kits?
why did they remove the laser designator?
that was the best part of battlefield bad company, sitting back and calling in a air strike to destroy that pesky tank.

BFBC2 feels so much like resistance 2 its not funny.
they took everything good about the first game threw it out, kept everything bad stitched it up and theres the sequel.
very disappointed in dice.
there normally on the top releasing the best games, their famous for their battlefield series, and look at mirrors edge that was a masterpiece!
they took 5 steps back with BFBC2 i hope they can pick themselves up and recover with this.
battlefield 3 really needs to be a PC exclusive so they can get themselves back where they were, with the best of the best.

come on dice your better than this, i know you are.
dont let me down!

Maybe they'll collaborate with Parker and Stone and finally bring us Orgasmo II.

For this upcoming August, I foresee Zampella & West taking back control of IW & then kicking Kotex's 2 hired a$$clowns to the unemployment curb.

Then hopefully Z & W wins their suit against kotex & Anti-vision.

And Sony hopefully buying IW too.

@Mackid,
well IW's contract with Anti-vision does end in Aug, so why not……I'm pretty sure IW can go any way & do anything they want then. And I'm sure that IW would want it's founding bosses back & welcome them with open arms

My other two thoughts there on winning the lawsuit & Sony buying them are of my more "hopeful" dreams though(my finger's are staying crossed), LOL
