We're very excited about the new Medal of Honor ; everything we've heard thus far has proven that EA is headed in the right direction.
But we've got more good news. At the Game Developers Conference, EA decided to show off several new screens for their new entry in the long-running series, and these depicted the "scalpel" portion of the campaign. Previously, we saw daytime images of a mission based in Afghanistan; these new screens hint at stealth and strategy rather than the intense, all-out action suggested by the daytime pics. And furthermore, the game's producer has confirmed to Joystiq that EA is using the PlayStation 3 as the lead development platform. Perhaps surprisingly, they're using the Unreal Engine for this game; most of the time, such shooters begin their lives on the Xbox 360. But times are changing and more and more designers are starting to focus on the PS3's capabilities first, which is probably a good idea. By the way, the build they showed at GDC represented a product that is about "60% complete" so they've got a ways to go, but that's fine by us. All we really want is a complete and total rejuvenation of an ailing, once-great series.
We'll definitely keep you updated as more Medal of Honor details arise. Remember the start of Frontline where you're storming the beach on D-Day? Let's get back to that level of awesomeness.

Hey Highlander,
I'm thinking that by making the PS3 the lead console, this would actually help benefit the 360's port in someway too, right?
Nothing to get excited about here. Using the PS3 as the lead platform hardly matters if you're just using the Unreal engine.
I have no idea what to think. I've never played MoH series. As far as the Unreal engine is concerned, if it was used in Bioshock then I hope DICE and EA fix it. I wasn't a fan of the control mech in that game. After playing 1943 and BadCo2, I can honestly say that playing another shooter will be learning to play fps's all over again.
On the other hand, PS3 lead platform, Joystiq sang MoH praises on a hands-on, and DICE is involved. Just don't want to get too hyped for another MW2 let down.
unreal? on the ps3 as lead platform… im not even following if that even matters.
all i ask is can we please have good destruction models?
battlefield bad company came out and introduced deformable covers, walls and such and i was really impressed.
than RFG came in, threw what DICE did away laughed at them than said watch this.
complete building deformation, or complete destruction to EVERYTHING! not just 1 building out of 50.
now BFBC2 is out and i was expecting to see RFG bad company 2 style and boy, o boy was i disappointed.
the destruction does almost nothing, half the buildings you cant destroy.
in the tank mission i was firing shells at walls with no effects.
WTF?
i had to laugh when i died and it came up with a hint saying try to take down a tower it could have massive effects.
so when i was in the tank i saw one and said what the hell, bombs away and……………..
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hit the tower exploded and tower stood like i threw a leaf at it.
not to mention the explosions lack power.
i had a rocket launcher and just after taking down a helli i fired a rocket at a wall because there was a enemy taking cover about 20cm away from the wall.
you would think the explosion would kill him, but nope!
again a enemy was taking cover so i pegged a grenade landed just behind him, BOOM!
was he dead?
NOPE!
WTF?
enemies are explosion proof or something?
cant help but feel DICE were limited by something.
oh what i would give to see the next battlefield, a PC exclusive so they can really take the physics engine to the next level.

–SO F*'n true.. I think I'm going to crack that bad boy open again.
I honestly think this is really good idea and can't wait for this game to come out for the PS3, Real engine not familar with it but who cares if they can make this as awesome as the other MOH games I'm happy with that. just take u're time Devs just take u're time I can wait. Oh hoping they add offline multiplayer thats what I LOVE about the other MOH games.
I'm always a fan of developers using their heads before they start making a game, usually means they will use it while they make the game too.
I've honestly never been a huge fan of unreal engine either, It's not that I thought it was terrible or anything, just that other engines were better. So if one is better why use that one.
However I'm sure there are some games that utilize that engine I might not be thinking of, if you know a great game with that engine, I'm willing to listen.
