Bizarre Creations got a couple extra months to work on finishing Blur so when it arrives on May 25, we should get a finely polished, immensely energetic racer.
However, don't think they're taking more time in order to create downloadable content users will then have to pay for at a later time. They're going about this process logically and in our eyes, productively: they don't want to even think about DLC until the game is totally complete but when it is complete, they'll throw their full weight behind downloadable extras and support the game for quite some time. Blur lead designer Ged Talbot spoke to MTV News about the team's approach and said that while they have no official dates for DLC, it's still a "massive part of the strategy" to support the game with DLC in the future. Now, the major complaint from gamers these days is that devs are focusing too much on additional content rather than the game itself, but Bizarre Creations clearly won't make that mistake. With over 30 race locations and 50 cars included in the game, it'll take some time to get your fill before you begin to crave any DLC. The bottom line is that although extra stuff is always cool, we still want our $60 worth, right?
Blur is one of those arcade-type racers with a nice little twist that could prove to be highly entertaining. For those who have enjoyed the likes of Burnout in the past, it could be just the game for you.

I'll be keeping a weather eye on this one, although Burnout Paradise set the mark very high, there is always room for improvement.
It looks like PGR and Wipeout's bastard child. And thats just awesome.
So, cool looking and brutally fast?
Sounds like a game right out of the Burnout school of driving.
I agree totally highlander, Burnout Paradise is really the coolest arcade racer I've ever played. Especially the coop challenges are a blast.
Is the PS3 the lead development platform for this game?
I believe they are porting the 360 version to ps3. I'll be getting the PC version because i can tweak my DF:GT much easier on PC, but i hope they didnt port the 360 version to PC like IW did with MW2. That would suck.
a good example if you ever wondered the differences between multiplats, since we brought up ports: http://www.technobuffalo.com/blog/microsoft/console-wars-round-9-xbox-360-vs-ps3-multiplatform-games
That game isn't GT5.
Since GT5 isn't here yet, we can hardly compare things against it, can we?
It isnt trying to be GT5. GT is a very meticulous simulator, Blur looks more along the lines of arcade-style vehicular combat.
Its really not fair to compare them much like its not fair to compare Ratchet and Clank to ICO. Sure, they are both technically platformers, but thats where the similarities end.
huh? yeah, yeah *Goes back to Heavy Rain*
lol, you got thumbed down for going back to playing Heavy Rain. You really do have enemies.
After promising a nice port, they lost my attention, but my mind is always open and psx could possibly change it if they like it well enough.
This game lost points with me for the 360 port, but I still love the concept and if I'm not mistaken I remember them saying they wouldn't f up the port, so I'll have to see if they're lying or not before I buy it.
Seems to me like every developer that is porting a game from the 360 is saying they aren't going to 'f' it up and that they will be the ones to do it right. Well, I have yet to see any one of them proven correct. We will see.
I got a thumbs down and then rogers71's post agrees with mine, I must be developing a stalker
burnout paradise + car combat = me in heaven!
its about fu**ing time some one came out with a open world car combat game.
as much as i love kart racers there old news, lets get with the times people!
cant wait for this and split seconds looking really good too.
Could you imagine the screen tearing on a fast paced 360 port? Oh yeah… Bayonetta…
What is it about Liverpool and racing games, wonder if the scallies that helped make joy riding and the sight of cars on bricks famous them years ago have grown up to make games.
J/K … I love Liverpool, it's people and know their is allot of good talent there.
Everytime I hear about this game, I can never figure out how I feel about it. Maybe because it's like Highlander said. Burnout has set the bar pretty high. That and most other games that were battle car games have, for the most part, been pretty weak attempts. Anyone who has played Full Auto will know what I mean.
I remember Midnight Club did this on the PS2 with their 2nd one I think. There was a battle mode, and though it was slightly entertaining, I never really got into it. I think for me, if I want a battle car game, I'll go with the Twisted Metal, (which Ben should be announcing anytime now ;P) But I'll be honest, Twisted Metals are fun, but they've never been games that have been "must haves" for me. There's something about the whole racer/shooter genre that I never got…
If I want an Arcade racer, well Burnout is still keeping me more then entertained, I've still got some challenges to finish.
If I want a racer..well GT5 is coming….eventually.
Blur is a blip on my radar of games that might be interesting, but it's a faint one… although thanks to a few of you guys(and girls) here at PSX, I've been getting into more great online experiences, so maybe the online capabilities of this game might be what changes my mind. The idea of laughing, joking and blowing the crap out of a few friends online does hold a certain appeal.

Hey, how about Burnout with hood mounted M60 machine guns?
😀
Yeah, I don't know what it is, but something about these games just don't get me excited..Maybe I'm not good at multitasking..lol. I rather either drive, or I'd rather just shoot, but put the two together, and I just don't enjoy it as much…Now if they did a driving game with ARMY of TWO mechanics where the game was coop and one person drove while the other shot? Yeah I'd be all over that one!
How about Twisted Metal??
I wouldn't mind owning that carbon-fibered BMW that's pictured above!
