Ben-DutkaWe keep telling you not to ignore other promising March titles just because of God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII . One such title that deserves a bit of your attention is Just Cause 2 .
But if you don't wish to take our word for it, you can sample the over-the-top action yourself this coming week. On Thursday, March 4, a playable demo will arrive on the PSN, Xbox Live Marketplace and Steam, and it won't be a tiny little 10-minute piece; according to Kotaku , we'll get 35 square miles of Lautan Lama desert in which to wreak havoc. These 35 miles only represent a fraction of the 400 square miles featured in the final game, but at least you're basically able to do whatever you wish in the demo (at least, we're assuming this is the case). The demo features one of the 50 colonels that will be in the game – all of whom are targets – plus one full, multi-stage mission that involves the infiltration of a military base and ends with an all-out car chase through the desert. Sound like fun? Than download it and give it a shot; we're hoping it's everything it can be- loads of insane entertainment centered around ridiculous firefights and absurd stunts. Oh, and a bunch of freedom that lets us do whatever we want most of the time.
Just Cause 2 by Avalanche Studios and Square-Enix will launch on March 23, a good two weeks after GoWIII and a week after FFXIII, so maybe you can squeeze it in.

Unfortunately I have to be very selective these days. I haven't bought a game on impulse in some time… This game, along with Bayonetta, Darksiders, Dantes Inferno, etc. get overlooked, unfortunately, because of the higher quality games coming out at the same time. Good news is that these games will be cheaper by the summer gaming dry spell! 🙂
This game looks like Mercs2 on crack. If it's got a home base of operation as Mercs2 did then I might just have to grab this one.

But funds dictate one needs to be very selective… unfortunately, some of these will fall along the way side… but what is nice, is that I think with generation in particular, these games will be around, and one will be able to pick them up very cheaply within the year… so patience will bring great tidings 🙂

I probably won't buy Just Cause 2 right away. If the demo impresses me I will look into buying it during the summer as well.
That summer backlog is getting pretty big: White Knight Chronicles, Star Ocean International, GTA4: Episodes From Liberty City and any Wii games I've missed since selling it back in November.
that sounds like a good idea. I will be way too busy playing Bad Company 2, and Red Dead Redemption is coming out at the end of may. I might just pick it up after finishing RDR.
i'm with brighat1971, i will download the demo but, won't pick up the game until the summer… i've been looking forward to this game due to my love for sandbox games and the fun action it looks like it possesses… i can't wait to check out the demo though…

off topic what is 3ddot heros game? i was told by my loacal gamestop if i wanned to preorder it. wtf?
3 Dot Game Heroes is a PS3 exclusive coming in May. It's a Legend Of Zelda-type game and looks like the famous NES game as well.
*promply ignores this game* FFXIII and GOWIII baby yeah!
Oh okay, I might try the demo some day but I don't want to give any more of my money to Square Enix than I have to.

Looks like Yakuza 3 just got replaced! Well I guess it depends on how good the demo is, I thought I was getting AvP, but then I played the demo Ick!
The game sounds interesting, but when I saw Square Enix's name, my first thought was "I hope they're just the publisher".
If there are any stealth type missions using sniper fire to take out some of the colonels, I might be interested.

Will download the demo, will not buy the game, not yet at least, since God of War of course, and after GoW, Heavy Rain will be getting my money, maybe after several months, and pricedrops will I buy this game, or I'll end up renting it.
Hehe I was watching a clip on youtube last night of it. Pretty crazy and definitely over-the-top. Looks fun though. That grapple move he has reminds me of what Scorpion does. "Get over here!"

I think you got those two games backward:
FFXIII and Yakuza 3 release on 3/9
GOW III and Resonance of Fate on 3/16
Just Cause 2 = Double FTW
This game's been on my radar every since they started releasing all those insane trailers on it.
@Biker- any word on what to expect in the way of co op, mp, dlc, etc.?
as ive said this is the only $E title ill be buying because now that they have taken over eidos their games are bound to suck.
cant wait to try the demo though, its looking like mercenaries 2 but made by a talented team and polished to a inch of its life!

I'm not really sure since I only play SP mode, & never buy DLC.
But, there's a ton of insane trailers for JC2 at the link below, so hopefully some of the gameplay trailers there will be able to answer that for you.

BTW, they must like 'Heavy Rain's style….. …..Just(be)Cause they now have a interactive trailer out that you branch out too to play it your own way.
