Ben-DutkaThought Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was done winning awards? Not quite yet; it had one last major awards show to dominate.
The results are in and as you can see, Naughty Dog's gem raked in 10 awards at the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, what many consider to be the most prestigious awards ceremony for the industry. Hosted by comedian and gamer Jay Mohr and taking place at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, the evening continued to pay homage to the unbelievable quality of Uncharted 2 . They also awarded David Crane, game designer and Activision co-founder, the first Pioneer Award, and ESA founder Douglas Lowenstein received the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award. Oh, and let's not forget about Mark Cerny, a big name in the industry and responsible for bringing us the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon , who was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Said Joseph Olin, AIAS president:
"The interactive world continues to grow and move forward every day. While we have seen tremendous advances in the community, I believe this is only the beginning. With the help of the tremendously talented men and women here tonight, we will continue to create games that inspire each other to continue pushing the envelope."
As for Uncharted 2 , it took home Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Story – Original, Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement In Game Play Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, and of course Game of the Year. Batman: Arkham Asylum got some love, too, and there's a disturbing lack of respect for Assassin's Creed II , but other than that, Uncharted 2 basically swept. So what else is new? 😉

Bungie's over-haloing and Valve's use of an engine that was new when Jesus was a baby just equal ripoff crap that never improves.
saw this yesterday at ign.took home 10 awards including goty, the most any game has gotten at the AIAS.uc2 is the beast game for this generation of gaming.storyline,visual,characters,etc raise the bar on how games are made.if you haven't played this yet, your defently living under a rock cause your missing out big time on this game.
Did you mean "best" game, because "beast" game worked too 🙂
These awards are all well deserved. I bet they had to clear a lot of space to make room for the amount of awards collected from all the different events.
Yeah, I bet their trophy 'cabinet' expanded to trophy 'room' this year.
i loved the first assassin creed , i still havent got the chance to play the second one as i said i'm across the pond from my ps3 but still i think that: Biosdhock2,ACII,UCII,MassEffect 2 and Heavy rain all deserves some kind of a reward keeping i mind i havent touch a game for at least 3 months ……..
So where are the massive sales to match? Shame on some PS3 owners.

the guy that hosted that show was annoying and wasn't even funny. Except the Kotick joke lol
What was funny is when some guy in the chairs was screaming "Twisted Metal!" and Jaffe answered "Soon bitch! like 8, 9 months" lol

I can't stand Jay Mohr
I first have to say that UC2 more than deserves whats it gotten in terms of recognition and greatness.
I also want to say I dont think AC2 has any lack of respect, but look how many great games there were last year. I dont know what awards were handed to KZ2 from AIAS, but it could also be said about that game as well… There was just too much greatness last year for every game to get some sort of recognition.

Actor/comedian, I think. A bit on the obnoxious side. Kind of younger generation Bill Maher. Blond, and Jewish. New York accent, but can remember any movies of him for the life of me.

They should buy the franchise back!! and make a remake like you say.. imagine the possibilities!!

Now it's already normal that UC2 sweep more awards but WHERE IS THE LOVE THAT ASSASSIN'S CREED 2 DESERVE!!!
Oh and a few days ago I said AC2 is the better game than UC2 but maybe that's because it's been months since I last played UC2 because yesterday I played UC2 and the feeling of awesomeness came back to me.

Hopefully someone can answer this for me. I have not played uc2. Reason being that on the first uncharted there was a glitch that drove me up the walls.
When shooting guys and it was not a 1 shot kill the enemy would stumble backwards and during the time that they were stumbling, it didn't matter what you did to them they were invincible. I tested this in many ways, if you shot them in the chest, waited for them to stop stumbling, shot again, and repeated, it took 3 shots to kill the average guy. If you just unloaded on him you could empty a clip and not kill him.
I'm wondering if uc2 has this problem or not because i just could not get past this on the first one. I also was not impressed by the online demo for uc2. any insights would be helpful, because uc2 is getting all kinds of praise but so did the first one.
Cained it hard, platinum on both uncharteds. Naughty Dog have created an awesome franchise and they deserve praise and respect from everyone.
Awesome for Naughty Dog, UC3 will indeed be Epic… Now just need bigger sales if this doesn't convince people with all these awards I don't know what will.
