Ben-DutkaThe PlayStation Network will soon get another unique piece of content, freshly announced today.
As reported by CVG , the Official PlayStation Magazine will launch a weekly high-definition interactive show on the PSN, called "FirstPlay." Providing users with a mixture of TV and online features, this show will offer reviews, previews, Featured Downloads, highlights, screenshots and more, produced by the OPM team and TV experts from Sky and the BBC. There's a preview video through the link above and the show will be on the PSN every Thursday (typical day for updates) and cost either 99p per viewing or £8.99 for a three month subscription. Said SCE UK boss Ray Maguire:
"As PlayStation 3 moves the gaming experience to a more social and competitive online environment through the PlayStation Network, so it becomes critical that we're offering gamers the very best content and services through this channel.
FirstPlay is a great example of this. Future has an outstanding track record in producing content for gamers that is informed, impartial, relevant and with the right production values, so we see them as a natural partner to work with as we move to on-console media development."
FirstPlay will debut in the UK this spring and then come to other European and PAL territories later in the year. There's no evidence of it coming to North America at this time, but if you wish, feel free to visit the official website . See? Gamers across the pond can get some seriously cool stuff, too.
So is this the big announcement we were all anticipated for?

another update let down. I seriously need to stop getting my hopes up for this crap. Wasn't this labled "WORLD EXCLUSIVE PS3 ANNOUNCMENT"? But it's only in the UK? um, alrighty.
I hope update 3.20 will have more USEFULL features to it than 3D gaming. I and alot of others I know don't care about 3D gaming, and aren't gonna jump on a 3D tv. Same goes with this "arc" gadget. Personally to me motion controls = FAIL.

i did assume it was going to be somthing for the uk only, as the announcement did say that it would be at 6pm BTS now no announcements do they give in british time, unless its for britain. looks half decent if you can get into beta's and stuff
This announcement is ok. Although I much prefer the announcement from Amazon about the release of WHITE DS3s on February 23!

That's why I don't go to "hypetrain" gamer sites when they say World Exclusive PS3 Announcement it's never a big deal especially when you consider whom the information is exclusive to, if Sony had a World Announcement truly pertaining to EVERYONE they'd post it on THEIR site I would think. IDK why I thought they were announcing their Premium Service to that site.

So how's that gonna work out? They're hardly gonna tell ya when a game is rubbish. They're trying to sell the games, so their idea of impartial may differ from someone who hasn't got something to gain by telling it as it really is. Don't think I'd be relying on this service other than to see some gameplay or hear some future game news. Other than that I'm getting my reviews from this impartial site right here.
I can't believe this is so call GamesRadar's "world exclusive" big annoucement. I was hoping for something bigger. Oh well.
Where getting the what now ? What is this ? lol I come here for my news updates and video downloads previews and reviews. I love the way Ben, Arnold and John write about stuff. Been coming here since 2006 possibly earlier im not gonna go for some new fangled thing.

I woke up this morning and ran to my CPU and googled PS3 News. As soon as I scroll down I see something like "Future and SCEE unveil FirstPlay". So I just sit there for another 10 seconds and go "Wow". Like What the bloody hell?!(I'm not british btw born in NY XD) what is this?! This is insane. Its not kosher! Its down right ludicrous! No….I take those things back. This isn't insane or ludicrous. This is just a great big pile of WTF! What the hell does "World Exclusive" mean to you gents down there?! So let me guess, your gonna enjoy your new FirstPlay episode while eating "Crepes" and passing the "Greu Puupon" to each other while drinking tea out of your easy bake oven size cups with your pinkies in the air talking like; "I say Rogers, this FirstPlay that Sony has invented is very intriguing to the most. It just swells your jingletons, doesn't it?" "Ah yes Smithion, I must commend you on your analysis. It just bumps your duncherions I say."
