Ben-DutkaFor PlayStation 3 owners, February is all about Heavy Rain , but this industry continues to move forward at lightning speed, meaning we're all forced to be fickle about our current passions.
Next up will be the hotly anticipated God of War III , which we've been waiting on for a very long time. It launches in North America on March 16 and although we've seen plenty of media and footage thus far, we haven't seen what has been described as a "Hollywood-style" trailer complete with the updated and finalized game engine. Well, the Chaos Will Rise trailer debuted on GameTrailers TV last night and not surprisingly, Kratos once again managed to take our breath away. Rather than explain it, it's better if you just watch it:
There now, wasn't that fun? It just makes us want the game all over again…and we kinda spend a lot of time wanting it. The boss battles look beyond epic, the environments and detailing are gorgeous, and the assumed intensity is just plain through the roof. Although Dante's Inferno is a solid title and one you may want to consider if you simply can't put off your hack 'n slashin' fun, God of War III should once again set the bar. Is there a GoW title that doesn't when it releases?

I thought that was a very nice touch too. This "It's only does everything" ad is so versatile. I'm glad Sony is taking advantage instead of using the same words every time.

As for my friends with a 360, I've given up trying to convince them that this game is going to be epicly awesome. They think it's all hype. Yeah?!?!? And Halo isn't!?!?!
Sony had better release God of War III and Gran Turismo 5 as a hardware console bundle, together with sweet console packaging. Perhaps the Collector's Edition bundled with a 120 GB or 250 GB PS3.
If they do that and make several hundreds of thousands of them, PS3 console sales will be through the roof.

50 bucks says sony only showed that trailer because of the leaked screen shots earlier.

You haven't seen the enemies, the weapons, OR the finalized engine displayed in this trailer. That's why it was a world premiere and a big deal.

its nothing we have not seen before, i want something new for crying out loud the game is out in 1 freaking month.
we have more info on freaking dead space 2 which is not due out till Q1 2011 than GOW3.
Why do you need more info when you get to play it in a month?
If you have any doubt this game will be epic the obviously you havnt played the first two. Even if it followed the suite of the first two games, it would be great. But from playing the demo, this is a whole new beast. Trust me.
Besdies that a trailor is supposed to give you a glimpse at what the game has to offer. Its supposed to pull you in an never let you go. It comleted that task, of anyone in there right mind. This trailor shows the engine working which was absolutely brilliant in the fight on the titans back. If your not awed by that then not many things get your attention. What am I even doing, you complain about everything anyways, why bother!?

but how am i suppose to be impressed with something ive seen before?
they showed us screen shots of this when the embargo ended in january now all they did was put those screen shots into motion.
sorry but once ive seen something its not going to impress me.
i dont understand why sony are being so secretive about this, its like they have something to hide.
The thing they have to hide is what could be the greatest game of the generation. If I was a dev. yeah I'd let some things slip to get the people excited but why spill it all?
Second you seen screenshots? wow. When those screens are put into motion we are seeing the engine work, were seeing those weapons put into action, we're seeing what we will be playing. I never seen those screens but regardless I'd much rather see them in action.
If your not impressed with that engine running, that we just seen in that trailor your nuts.

As good as it is it didn't blow me away like the 1rst trailer did. Hopefully the hammer shown briefly will be more varied than the barbarians hammer.
Nonetheless I'm anticipating the day my pandoras box arrives, replica or no.
i thought the trailer was pretty bad ass like how they showed off some better gameplay of the new enemies but i do wish they would of shown new weapons we haven't seen yet but i can understand why they didn't.Ive been wondering, even though they said its the end of the GOW series do u think they will be making a dlc for it like EA did with Dante Inferno.

I hope they dont honestly.
I want the full game on my disc, and I want to play through it, and say Wow that was an epic ending. And 2 months down the road they release dlc, and I have to think to my self why this, why? I dont want to feel like it wasnt complete upon hopefully Kratos Victoy over the gods.
Besides that the game is somewhere up towards 15 hours long. Thats way more gampley than most games in this genre. so I think Santa Monica took that into consideration when making this game. They wanted this to be the end, and they wanted it to be long enough to satisfy.

No words…to explain…how epic this is! I honestly think this is going to be the greatest game of all time, as if I didn't think it before.
(btw Kratos sounds so much angrier in this game. ITS SO AWESOME!)
