Capcom Announces Survivor Missions, Soundtrack For Dark Void

If you picked up Dark Void in January, you'll probably want more ways to expand on your air-and-ground experience.

Well, good news: Capcom has announced two goodies for fans of the action title; one is an upcoming downloadable pack and the other is the official soundtrack. The Survivor Missions will be featured in the DLC, which will drop onto the Xbox Live Marketplace on February 10 for 400 Microsoft Points, and then arrive the following day on the PlayStation Network for $4.99. These missions are basically exactly what they sound like, in that you will be fighting off wave after wave of increasingly tough opponents, so be quick and accurate! You can even hijack enemy aircraft and upgrade your weaponry to assist in your taxing mission. The soundtrack boasts 80 minutes of the game's score, "hand-picked by composer Bear McCreary," and it will also include the special bonus track, "Theme from Dark Void (Mega Version)," which is an "8-bit rendering" that can be heard in the new DSiWare game, Dark Void Zero . The soundtrack will be provided by Sumthing Else Music Works and will be available on CD and in digital form on February 9.

We're not sure if Dark Void managed to sell well, but we know Capcom's expectations were high. The game didn't turn out spectacularly but based on the demo, we figure it could be fun for big fans of the genre.

What!!! they dare to make the people that bought the game pay for dlc?!?!?!?…this game was more of a failure than Bionic Commando .

Capcom should give them the dlc free and ask for forgiveness for the poor souls that payed 60 bucks.

Yeah, not good enough for PSXE to review, not good enough for me to buy.

On a lighter note, I've begun a new campaign on DOAX, and I have a whiskey in my hand… soooo relaxing.

I played the demo for this game and it's pretty bad.The trailer makes it look semi-decent, but when I actually played it I just laughed….

the demo sucks but the controls in the game are so much better.
but its still a pretty crappy game.
20 bucks in the bargain bin or a rent is as far as i would go with this, though it is a very easy game to plat.

i can not believe EB STILL! have not got this in stock.
WTF?
capcom seriously you need to sort your sh*t out im sick and tired of having to wait weeks after release date to get my hands on your games.
DMC4, SFIV, RE5, DV.
every single capcom game released in the last 3 years has not been in stores on its release date.
for fu**s sake how hard is it to make sure your games in store by the release date?

Why are you so worried about it not being in the store if it's a bargain bin buy? I could see if it was SF 4 and maybe even R E 5 but you just said its worth 20 bucks so why the frustration guy? Have a Foster's

I think he just likes to type to help get out his agression. This game didn't interest me. Maybe for $5 I'll give it a whirl.

The soundtrack thing is a good idea, I think more games should have their soundtracks available to purchase from the store. And as for the survivor mode, this is becoming increasingly popular with games, its enjoyable but i dont think I'd want to pay for it, especially when you look at brilliant examples like UC2 putting it on the disc

I'm officially boycotting all Capcom till they stop cutting content from games and charging for it as DLC.

I don't mind paying for some DLC now and then, but it's painfully obvious that Capcom cuts out content just to charge for it later, and thats just wrong.

I had really high hopes for Dark Void…I enjoyed the flying combat parts, but everything else sucked. Sorry, but i didn't enjoy the game enough to care about DLC.
