Ben-DutkaFor some time, it has been believed that David Jaffe's new studio, Eat Sleep Play, has been hard at work on a new Twisted Metal for the PlayStation 3. But despite pseudo-confirmations from several sources, Jaffe himself insists that nothing has been officially revealed.
Well, perhaps the days of silence will soon disappear. As noted by PlayStation LifeStyle , there is evidence that the world may be treated to a teaser debut trailer some time soon. Citing the Twitter page for the developer , we learn that such an unveiling could be right around the corner. As you can see, the message in question reads:
"Just viewed a fantastic 1st cut of an upcoming press video. Looks amazing, I would buy that game!"
Yeah, well, if it is what we all think it is, you aren't the only one. There is the chance the video might first see the light of day at this year's Game Developers Conference in March but there's no way of knowing for sure. We've been waiting for more news on Eat Sleep Play's mystery project for quite some time now, because if it is indeed another Twisted Metal , we're gonna do a little jig. No seriously, a jig . Like, right here in front of my desk. …I might hurt myself, though.
I don't get the delay in information. Why be so secretive for so long? It just annoys and alienates people.
I've wondered this myself…
Of course, announcing things ten years before they are ever going to be ready has the same effect.

your better off announcing a game than releasing it 6 months later ala gears of war 2, forza 3.
than announcing a game than releasing it 4+ years later ala killzone 2, GT5, LA Noire.

This makes me happy for a few reasons. 1. because I loved the Twisted Metal series, & 2. does this mean that we can exclude this game from being Ben's secret exclusive, now that Ben has made this article? So we're lookin at the possibility of this exclusive Twisted Metal, & yet ANOTHER one that Ben can't tell us about. I like the sounds of that.
I had stoped commenting and reading only Pending when Ben tells us the secrete Exclusive… it's been a very very long wait.. i Thought it was suppose to get loose early this year.. BENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Twisted Metal was ok, but I think I'd rather see something new from Jaffe. Looking forward to hearing what this is.
Yeah, not too cited over TM. I enjoyed it on the old PS1 but I've moved on. Still, gotta love that clown truck.

Twisted Metal? Please dont have Rob Zombie on this one, and bring back the fun of the ps1 days, and innovate your a** off Jaffe I'll expect a GoW caliber Twisted Metal if that is in fact the game in question, but I dont want to solve puzzles with cars though so no crazy sh**

Never played twisted metal before. Hopefully I can get started.
I'll tell you what, if it's Twisted Metal, I'll do enough jigs for everyone! I'll turn on some Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys and jig away! And I really hope that if it is TM, that it's released not too long after the announcement, although I'm sure I'm getting a little ahead of myself on that one…

If it's twisted metal then I hope it gets an unedited release in the UK.
I also hope it doesn't focus 90% on the multiplayer.
Even though I had a blast with TM:Black, I hope they make the next one more like TM2. But i will be happy with a TM with a really fleshed out On-line component. I could just never get TM:Black's online to work well on the ps2.
I agree, Twisted Metal 2 was the best. Press L1,UP,Down,Left at the vehicle selection screen.

I think I remember reading somewhere before that they are working on two seperate titles. One possibly being the next Twisted Metal and the other a complete mystery title. Either way I look forward to seeing what they are. One being Twisted Metal I'm hoping.
I never played Twisted Metal because I was never into "Car Combat".
So I'm not excited over a Twisted Metal game.
Twisted Metal is the only game that has gotten "car combat" right!

I know I played the game but I don't remember much about it. I do remember the commercials though.

the combat in that is better than twisted metal.
anyway the combat in CTR was fairly good too.
i play that more than i do my ps3 games.
Finally something about Twisted Metal ,lets hope when they annouce this they do it with gameplay .

I can remember playing Twisted Metal for hours on end… Though, playing it now isn't as much fun.
