Sony's potentially revolutionary motion sensing technology won't arrive until the fall; it's the company's wish to wait until more software will be available for the new controller.
But one game that was supposed to be compatible was Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition or the "Gold Edition," as it will be known here in North America. At last year's Tokyo Game Show, it was confirmed that this updated version of last year's survival/horror zombiefest would feature support for the new motion controller…but now, with the controller delayed until fall, how does this affect the new RE? Well, it doesn't, really. According to what Capcom told Joystiq , the new RE5 edition remains on track to be released on March 9 in the US:
"Capcom has not announced any compatibility between Sony's motion controller and Resident Evil 5 in North America. The release of this product will be unaffected by the delay in our territory and is still on track for a March 9 release with the individual pieces of downloadable content released prior."
Now, as Joystiq points out, this doesn't answer a bunch of other questions: will it still be featured in the Japanese Alternative Edition ? Will it arrive as a patch later? Is Capcom just passing on the idea entirely? Well, regardless of the answers, the "Gold Edition" will still be ready to go in March as a downloadable title in the US. If you never got the chance to play RE5, perhaps it's an excellent option.

i wonder how useing the new motion controller affect RE5 "GE"'s gameplay, the controls were all ready funk enough ( refering to the past RE) , but im not gonna knock it till i try it.

Will it still be compatible?
I don't plan on buying either so I'm allllllll good.
The delay to Fall for the motion controller is either due to marketing or manufacturing reasons. The software support is pretty much done, and I'm certain that the APIs for Arc/Gem/whatever are fixed and in the hands of developers along with pre-production controllers for testing.
This really shouldn't be an issue. Even if they don't include direct support for it in the initial release, it can be patched into the game later. Alternately, Sony could apply some magic via firmware, granting some form of compatibility with the new controller via the firmware and not the game itself.

It would be really nice for them to add compatibility to all games with a firmware update. Then just change the settings and customize the buttons from the XMB. That way there will be no problem with any game.
However, they are still making games that are taking fully advantage for it.
I really want to play the new Ape Escape…
That'd be really cool!
Emulating the success of RE4 on the Wii with "Arc" controls in RE5 will be very difficult for Capcom. There's a lot of ticked off RE fans out there and they're not about to be swayed by motion controls.
MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!
no matter what they put on it RE5 its crap
I didn't know this was a downloadable title! I don't want that many gigs wasting my hard drive! Pass. No thanks to the stuff you cut to make it fit on 360 in the first place.

re5 is NOT crap. it is not a bad game by ANY means. its just not what we expected
Of course the game isn't bad. RE5 is simply a game with terrible controls and even worse quick-time-events.
How much do I have to pay to update my existing RE5?
meh, was never going to buy it anyway.
resident evil 5 along with killzone 2 were the disappointments of 2009 and probably the generation.
I would appreciate an explanation for Killzone 2 being disappointing.

boring.
repetitive.
short.
could go into more detail but its 2 in the morning and i cant sleep but still cant be stuffed.
The delay was because they realized they needed to add a joystick to the motion controller.
