We're all about Heavy Rain right now, the next potentially fantastic PlayStation 3 exclusive by developer Quantic Dream.
It should especially appeal to those who enjoy a good story or to be a bit more specific, a good, character-driven mystery. You'll want to find more twists and turns as you progress through the plot and this will remain the focal point of Heavy Rain . The developers fully understand their targeted audience, which is why they're going to give you a little taste of this more intellectual form of entertainment, well before the game hits store shelves. Visit the official site for the Four Days Challenge. This consists of three live challenges that require you to unravel the complex mystery, and it just sounds downright cool. Here's a snippet from the mini-game's explanation:
"Be warned, we're stepping into a dark world here. Stay alert at all times. Anything you see or learn or hear – you may need later. You'll be contacted via e-mail throughout the experience, directing you towards different leads in the investigation."
Sign up now to become part of the intricate story and see how you do. It sounds like a perfect warm-up for the game, so get ready: the Four Days Challenge starts on January 26 and will continue to run "in real-time across three weeks," which will bring you within a week of Heavy Rain 's February 23 launch date. Signing up will also net you a voucher for a free t-shirt to be displayed in PlayStation Home (yeah, it's not a real t-shirt), so get to it if you're interested.
Related Game(s): Heavy Rain
These are GREAT news!
But, damn! Why not a real T-shirt? I just hate PS Home 🙁 Videogames already take a big chunk of my life to spend the other one in a Virtual Room filled with guys using Girly Avatars.
Home is teh sux.
From the website:
"For technical reasons, only EU users will receive a voucher code for the Home t-shirt when registering. US users will have their own opportunity to get hold of the item and they can still take part in 'Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience."
I want this F**kin Game!
I just finished Fahrenheit(yeah I went and found the EU uncensored version)last night. I absolutely cannot wait for Heavy Rain now. If it is anything like Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy then I will absolutely love it.
Are all the copies with the EU name "Fahrenheit" uncensored? Cuz I have one but haven't gotten too far, its great but I have lots of other games taking up my time.
As far as I know yes, all EU Fahrenheit games are uncensored but I live in the US so I am far from an official voice on the matter, but by the end of the game if you have any doubts to whether or not your game was censored then it was.
I still haven't tried on the last Home shirt I got for free.
Trying to sign up for the four days challenge thingy now, ain't really working though, maybe the server is a bit crowded… I'll check again tomorrow, anyways, really psyched about this game, if I had the money I'd get it day 1.
Edit: They'll be sending me an e-mail with more details soon. How mysterious >< can't wait.

This reminds me of that old PC game 'Missing'. It had you trying to track down a killer. The creators of the game actually had you searching websites for clues and you would actually get emails from the killer. It was an awesome game.
I cannot wait to try out this challenge and then get the game.
I remember that game. That was one of the best games around at that time. Thanks for reminding me about it. Gotta see if I can find it again. Gotta get the expansion and sequel as well.
Yeah, I got the expansion but never got the sequel. I may have to try and track that down.
It was also called In Memoriam.
I tried re-installing it the other day…
Disc scratched :0(
Great marketing idea QD, don't think I can spare a moment though. Keep up the hype train anyway!
Now their making February seem far off, I want this game badly.
Could Heavy Rain be done on a 360?
What difference does it make?
Anything can be done anywhere.
no
Here's a better question….Could the 360 be done after Heavy Rain?
World, Supposedly all the copies except for the NA copies are complete & un-cut.
FYI, for the NA copies, they changed the name so it wouldn't be confused with Micheal "Super Slob" Moore's movie, Fahrenheit 911. And they also cut out the interactive sex scene from the NA copies too, but at the request of the game's publisher, Atari(who feared that an 18+ rating would kill the game).
I highly doubt that maybe with a couple dvd's and not as refined….suckers
Am still waiting for the day they use the adult only rating. In good taste that is.
Can you guys tell me how to put up an avatar? Where do you click? 🙂 thanks in advance
@Roach721,
go up to the top left corner to the box with your username in it(right above the menu).
Then click on the words "User CP".
Once in, then click the 1st sentence where it says "Update account info". Once inside the new page, just scroll down to the boittom whwerer it says Avatar. You can browse your computer for one if you already have one, but make sure it's sized to fit the specs listed there.
Hope that helps ya…

There's also this little kick ass envelope with a purple arrow in all of the comments that allows you to directly respond to the person you wish to write to just by clicking on it.
Now THAT'S innovation!
I agree, I believe Heavy Rain should appeal to a lot of gamers, & also plenty non-gamers. My mother who is infatuated with soap opera's said she wants a go at it.
@Biker,Hey thanks a lot no wonder i could'nt find it they should make it easier to find.
@Roach721, No problem, glad I could help.
@Alienange,
That "reply" envelope doesn't always work though.
It completely disappears on me after someone's used it once.(like how your own "reply" is missing right now for me too).

@ Biker SAint the reply only works for the person that started the comment.you know what i mean?

Hey ffyfe – How come you use punctuation in your posts?
Doesn't that go against your belief system?
I would've loved to take part in this… but unfortunately, Quantic Dream doesn't Canada to be worthy enough of a country to participate.
Four Days is intriguing indeed. Perfect way to involve players prior to release. I just hope that SONY markets this game. Id say that even at least at half the strength of the Only Does Everything campaign would increase sales. People are hungry for this type of entertainment. CSI meets Silence of the Lambs type stuff. Same with MAG. People wont buy what they dont know exists.
have you heard? the 1st review for heavy rain is in. 9/10 in OPM UK =)
Thanks World, its from a web series called Zero Punctuation. If you haven't seen it its a guy who reviews games but basically all he does it find faults. Its funny as and here is link if you want it http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation
Sorry for the off topic
*sigh*
Again, as alienange said, using the little envelope with a purple arrow, AKA – "reply button", would keep all posts related to a previous post in a neat little central location…….
Awesome news. Thanks for relaying it, Ben.
@SvenMD
Just an FYI,
It's something the administrators & webmaster should check into because the "Reply" doesn't always work.
Seems when anybody clicks it once, it then disappears for good…at least it's always going bye-bye for me.
And BTW, I'm replying a bit lower down than I actually wanted…. because your "reply" button is missing too.
@BikerSaint.You see what i mean if you wanna be below (SvenMD) you have to press reply on (ffyfe) and so on and so on.So to be below you I have to press Reply on Jalex and so on.You get it?
So if you reply to someone you wont have the reply, unless you simply leave a comment without replying.
What am trying to figure out is how you get back to the home SCREEN i always have to go back to my Bookmarks or Favrites botton.
im not really excited for heavy rain for its storyline.
im more interested in the conscience decisions you have to make during the game, and how those will effect the gameplay.
O, and what happened to that demo that was supposed to be released last year?
Not a real shirt? Aw, man! I'm so dissappointed! I never want to try this now!
Lol but really, I just might give it a shot. Thanks for the info Ben!
