Gran Turismo 5 has been in the news a lot lately, for a variety of reasons…well, one big one. The delay.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi says that any Gran Turismo release is never a happy time for him, just 'cuz he's a perfectionist and is an expert at spotting the mistakes and oversights (an admirable quality). We also know all about those cool new features , which once again managed to add more vigor to our GT5 enthusiasm. But do you remember when Yamauchi said the game was all ready to go and they could "release it whenever they wished?" That all they were doing was waiting for Sony to give the green light? Well, either that was a stretching of the truth or Polyphony decided at the last second to toss in more stuff…which is starting to appear very likely. I don't recall hearing anything about a 3D version of GT5 before, do you? And Sony is going to really push new technology like 3D gaming and their motion controller in 2010; the latest report is that their 3D-enabled Bravia HDTVs will hit the market this summer. The previous estimate we saw was "end of 2010." So is there enough evidence to prove that the GT5 designers have opted to delay the game for the sake of more content and this "3D version?"
Perhaps. According to a USA Today interview with Yamauchi, he says the game is "about 90% done," and they're only polishing up the last 10%. This kinda flies in the face of the "we're done" comment we heard last summer, doesn't it? And might it imply that content they hadn't planned on including must now be featured? Finally, if this is indeed the case, are you angry at the delay or psyched that Polyphony is continuing to add content?

I don't normally do predictions but I'm willing to go out on a limb here with this one:
GT5 will outsell the entire Forza franchise.
That the hell are you talking about lol?! it already done so right?!

no it Will not
I'm still waiting for PD to make Tourist Trophy 2….
well i never get "mad" at devs for delaying games like this. though i have to admit that, as a huge gran turismo fan, its becoming a bit frustrating. sometimes it feels like its never going to release
This is called: dedication
It will come out this year. We shouldn't rush them. When it does come out, we'll get the best racing game yet.
Extra content is never a bad thing. I think that as loaded as the first half of the year is with games, GT can take its time and come out a little later. Hopefully it's before August. Still hoping for that Summer release
i don't really mind the delay, i mean i've got enough on my PS3 to keep me occupied until GT5 arrives….. not to mention jam-packed march coming up….. i know in the end the wait will be worth it…
I'm really glad that they are taking time to make it as perfect as possible, but it gets to a point when the time they spend polishing the game doesn't add to the overall enjoyment the game already provides. Put more simply, they will never reach perfection, but can work towards it as long as they want. However, the longer they work at it, the smaller the improvement they make. The result is we end up waiting longer so they can fix problems that probably wouldn't have mattered to most people. I'm ready to play the game, and I'm sure whatever they have done now would be good enough for me. Please don't drag it out any longer than it needs to be.
ok, i'm going balls out when this game comes out. i'm talking the logitech g27 racing wheel, gearshift and pedals(including a clutch!) . also that playseats thing that you can mount it all on. thats about 500 dollars there. better do some more overtime i guess!
The more features the better why would I be angry?
I'm just glad that Gran Tursimo 5 wasn't rushed out the gate for Christmas and March is kinda cramped so again I don't mind if Yamauchi is keeping the game back for perfection.
Hopefully is will be unleashed before July and it will include custom soundtracks so I can play some Rhapsody of Fire while racing hehe!! GLORIA, GLORIA PERPETUA

I don't mind the delay also since there are a bunch of triple AAA titles releasing on the 1st qrt alone. GOW3, Heavy Rain, FFXIII, MAG, etc.. I can wait for GT5 when its finally released, I am planning on buying G25 or G27 wheel and a playseat also to play it so its ok for me to have some more time to save money.Until then I will be very busy playing GOW3 and Heavy Rain if reviews will be great.
yay!!! finally a new gt
hello …
i really hope it's for the '3D' or any other cool contents…
still it will also be difficult for us to buy so many games coming this year.
will be great if it comes out in a calm period where it can get all attentions
cheers!
