Original Story:
The release date saga surrounding Gran Turismo 5 continues.
Last year, it was officially announced that GT5 would launch in Japan in March 2010, although they never provided a release date for North American or European regions. At the time, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said US gamers could expect to see the hotly anticipated simulator "not long after" the release of the Japanese version. And while Japanese retailer Geostore first listed both GT5 and God of War III with a March 25 date, it wasn't long after when GameStop's expected US release for GT5 slipped all the way to November 2 . And now, in another turn of events, SCEE has apparently confirmed a quickly spreading rumor that GT5 has been delayed in Japan ; possibly for about three months. Right now, though, the game only has a vague "TBA" attached to it for all regions, which probably isn't a good sign for anxious racing fans in North America. At this point, it appears that GameStop's date may be accurate, although it would certainly help to boost the holiday season for Sony and the PlayStation 3.
Could it be that Sony is running away from God of War III and other big titles in the first quarter? It seems unlikely, as most of the major releases aren't as big in Japan as they are here, so it makes little sense to delay GT5 for this reason. Oh well; guess we'll just have to keep waiting.

My hubby is upset but says they obviously delayed it for a reason and now this give him time to play GOW III and FF13.
Yawn.
Sniffing around an empty race track for clues, we've been smelling nothing but large plumes of Gasoline Vapor(ware) permeating the air lately!!!!
soooooo, GT5…..let's "Get er done"!!!!!
LOL does GT5 actually exist???
Uhg….
lol ok well im not one to be disappointed by delays. I just want a good final product but it seems like its been forever for some strange reason. While I think the release of Prologue and the 2 demos was a good way to build interest and mitigate production costs, I have a strange feeling that some of this restlessness has been caused by having a small, albeit different version of the game WAY before the full version is released.
The good thing is that the engine and content have changed a lot so for any of us that have been playing the demos etc for so long, it will still be refreshing. The idea of a new GT however has been on the brain a lot more closely than previous installments so I think that could cause some restlessness.
Graphics on demos look PS2 & how is it fun to slide off the road around every corner & spin your wheels in the dirt for a long time trying to get back on the road. Judging by the demos GT5 looks & plays terrible so they can postpone it indefinitely for all I care.
@NetheRealm – A) I think you need your eyes checked, B) the latest demo is really sensitive. I personally like the challenge and am glad that they have actually tweaked the physics so that its possible to spin out from too much acceleration too early but it is more difficult than reality. Hopefully the maintain that idea but make it less twitchy. No such thing was present in Prologue.
btw Polyphony wont need your money.
How long have we got to wait for this game,no doubt it will get put back yet again ;-( i mean how many people can keep up with how many times this has been put back now? but having said that we all know it will be well worth the wait don't we 😉
