Oh, just admit it. You were waiting for the MVPs to be named before you decided on the final box art, huh, Sony?
Well, either way, we have confirmation from an announcement over at the PlayStation Blog that MLB 10: The Show will release on March 2, and the cover man is the American League MVP, Minnesota's Joe Mauer. This series has emerged as one of the most critically acclaimed in all of video games and we expect nothing but the best from the new effort. As you can see, it will boast a host of new additions and features, including the crowd-pleasing Home Run Derby, improved online gameplay, and custom music and fan chants. We also like the idea of "Catcher Calling the Game," as you'll be able to call the pitches when sitting behind the plate, as any catcher does in a real baseball game. New stadiums, a new pick-off mechanic, new training and practice modes, full online season leagues, and even a movie maker should make MLB 10 perfect for anyone who considers themselves a true-blue baseball fan. Let's not forget that the Road to the Show will also be updated with plenty of new upgrades and enhancements so you're looking at an entirely fresh package from top to bottom; to claim this is just a rehash of last year's title would be entirely erroneous. Weekly live rosters is only one of many reasons to keep playing this one throughout the spring and into the summer!
It comes out one week before Final Fantasy XIII but we get the feeling we're not talking about the same audience, here.
Related Game(s): MLB 10: The Show
Finally I have been waiting for news about this game. I have bought every "the show" game that came out. Way better then the 2k series.
MLB '08 and '09 were superb baseball games and '10 should be even better. If I could only buy one PS3 game releasing in March 2010, MLB '10 would be my pick. Just hope they add some fresh commentary from Matt Vasgersian, Dave Campbell and Rex Hudler.
it has nothing to do with this but i was reading an article in motor trend and they were playing GT5 in CES show and they showed him a Prototype 3D GT5 edition with some pink glasses. sounds awsome cant wait.

I've been more impressed with the graphical upgrade this game has gotten over last years version. It looks a lot more realistic than the previous titles. The new gameplay videos at the CES look amazing.

Crowd improvement!
The thunder sticks!!!
Custom walk up audio!!!
Better time of day transition! (hopefully weather too)
'Bout goddamn time a baseball game got this right:
HR Derby â The Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Futures Game are now available during the All-Star break in our season modes and as a stand-alone experience.
^THANK YOU! 😀
I thought the time of day stuff from '09 was fine as is. Days are longer in the summer and shorter in the spring in that game so I don't know what can be done here. Weather is a tricky thing as you don't play games during thunderstorms in the real world. Still, they do play in straight rain and wind and I'd like to see the wind play a bigger role in some games.
Best baseball game series ever! The improvements and added features to this year's version sound like a dream come true and then some. I'm not inclined to buy games at "launch", but this is definitely on my "to get eventually" list.
i hate basseball lol
And I hate American Football
We're even
Best Baseball Game! People wish this was on Xbox360, It's True i had it asked on many times…..HA!
Adam Greenberg had to buy a PS3 to play this game. HA!
Exactly
They're stuck with MLB 2K XX
Boom goes the dynamite.
SWEET!!!
I find it funny how MLB The Show '09 was released exactly a year after MLB The Show '08, & it averages a review score of 90/100. Yet Killzone 2 was first unveiled in '05, released in '08, & averages a 91/100. That just goes to show how good this baseball franchise has become. MLB The Show '10, therefore should be reffered to as "blockbuster" title, along with God Of War, Gran Turismo, & Final Fantasy 13. & if not blockbuster, then definetely AAA.
If it came out once every 2 or 3 years there's NO DOUBT this franchise would be right there with the big games
as a red sox fan, i'm glad its not a YANKEE on the cover…lol
seriously, this game (series)is great online. great community, i remember i had some guy online teaching me how to play better because i was getting so frustrated and we played 3 games in one night, and he beat me the first 2, but the last one, i was down 2 runs in the top of the 9th and he put in mariano rivera, so i was thinking it's all over, you know? (he was a yankees fan) i was sitting on high fastball, and by god, he threw one, and i blasted it over the center wall. a 3 run shot and i won.
i really like the MLB games 🙂
my psn ID is flyingkickpunch if anyone wants to play, any online game for that matter!
only sport game i care about this year is fifa world cup 2010.
love my soccer games, hopefully they release it soon and not like in late September when they normally release them.
and, EA PLEASE O PLEASE! tweak the shoot sensitivity.
honestly in fifa 2010 i can run up to the goal, stop line up my shot than touch shoot with a feather and the player would kick the ball so freaking hard it would give the moon a shiner!
i wish they would bring back the power par.
make a tap a kick just off the ground, than the longer you hold it the higher the ball goes.
im sick off missing goals because i go for a feather touch, a skim along the ground and i get a moon shiner.
It comes out end of April right before the World Cup.
Now if they would just add the option to start an occasional fight when you get brushed back to close or hit by a pitch. Even Bases Loaded on the NES had that. And it happens a few times a year in real baseball so that's not asking too much.
Batters will go in the game. They just immediately go to a cut scene. I got peaved one night due to a miracle cpu comeback and I preceeded to hit the next 51 batters just to see what would happen. I started 6 brawls, but only the pitcher was ejected.
Not really a fight though lol. I've tried to start one in the last two "The Show" games but got nothing but the batter looking at the pitcher. The pitchers got ejected but that's still a big letdown. At least in Bases Loaded the batter actually charged the mount and beat the crap out of the pitcher for beaning him.
I dont think MLB would like the devs using their liscence like that.:(
Car manufacturers don't like seeing their cars smashed up in racing games either, but some of them allow it. I see no real difference between the two. It's a part of the sport so put it in. Just like letting the pitcher lose his footing every now and then when he throws. It's small stuff like this that will go a long way with the fans. And after 8 seasons in last years version, I have never once seen a balk get called.

If I have to buy another game this March besides FFXIII, it would have to be this.
Yeah I bought MLB 09 The Show (the 1st baseball game ive bought ever)and im still playing it everyday. I am a huge baseball fan and just when I had convinced myself that I could wait for '11 the feature list came out and now I really want it. I am furiously trying to sell '09 so I can afford '10 before '09 becomes obsolete. The only problem is that due to I live in Australia I must ship it from the US which is an inconvenience (and I get it later than US) and which all the great titles coming out in 2010 I may HAVE to wait for '11
I am still playing 09 myself, and I just hope they finally cut down on the number of foul balls. That is the only thing that does not seem realistic to me. Everything else sure is shaping up nicely!
