Magic Ball Renamed, Winter Theme Pack Announced

Magic Ball was both simple and entertaining and if you still have this cute brick-breakin' title, you'll be interested in the update.

TikGames and Creat Studios have announced that Magic Ball will be renamed Magic Orbz (although we don't know why) and the "renaming" patch, along with the new Winter Theme Pack Add-On, will release for the PlayStation 3 tomorrow (January 7) in Europe and next week (January 14) in North America. Said Founder and CEO of TikGames, LLC, Anatoly Tikhman:

"TikGames and Creat Studios are thrilled to deliver even more fun-filled and addictive content for our Magic Orbz fans on PlayStation® Network, and we look forward to introducing the excitement to new players, as well."

Our review may not have been enough to convince you of a purchase, but bear in mind that I probably would've given it an 8+ if they had had more than two levels available. Now, they've got the new Halloween level plus this Winter Theme Pack Add-on, and that should essentially double the original content. There are 24 individual levels in each world and they get increasingly more difficult, so it's not like you'll zip right through it. Besides, at this time of year, what better way to celebrate the season than by busting up igloos, penguins, glaciers and polar bears with your trusty…erm…soccer ball.

It's a decent enough game, not too expensive, and it does provide some distraction on cold winter nights. Though I personally find that some of the levels are fiendishly annoying.

I'll have to pickup the new levels.

I personally enjoyed this game. The co-op was fun as well, even got my g.f to play with me. She doesnt get into GOW, or Uncharted 2, or any of those games. But she definitely plays alot of my downloaded titles including magic orbz, newly renamed.

I'll be getting this pack, since i still play magic ball today. It's one of the best games to pass a few minutes before you head out, but its also just a great fun game for everyone!

Agreed its a fun downloadable game, wonder why the name change? Also wonder if there is anything they can't do in these "patches" I mean can they release a patch to change the whole d*mn game or what? Wipeout had an "ad patch", MW2 has had 4 useless patches that did absolutely nothing, and 1 that fixed a rock glitch and weakened the 1887's, RE5 took Vs mode off so they could charge $5 for it. I have no problem with the patches just wondering what's the limit with them?

I noticed it came up as "Magic Orbz" when I did a trophy compare with one of my neighbors. Weird.

But it's a fun game, IMO and a nice diversion from shooters and such. TikGames and Creat have some really nice PSN titles. Hope they come out with more.

Prob got tired of people calling it 'Magic Balls', as I was fond of referring to it, heh. I love this game though. Any word on price for the Winter Theme Pack?

So now they've turned into magical orbs, which we touch in everyday JRPG life?

Sweet.

why do people keep comparing it to zelda?
seriously i can not see any links between this and zelda.
its like comparing bayonetta to god of war, there completley different games.
i like darksiders, i really do.
the controls take a little getting use to, and the game is a little on the slow side, it takes AGES! to unlock the good stuff.
but once its unlocked your going to have a sh*t load of fun reaping havok on everything.
