Before the holidays, we heard about Sodium One, the MMO-type game within PlayStation Home. Now, the ambitious social service gets its own TV channel (of sorts).
If you wander on into Home, you'll probably notice something new in the Home Theater: it's the "Home TV" channel, hosted by Perry Flynn and designed to keep you updated on everything related to this virtual community. They'll tell you about all the latest news and updates (which is helpful, considering the rapidly increasing size of Home) and give you the details of upcoming events and gatherings. Furthermore, you can feel like a member of the family by forwarding your own photos or news to Sony, thereby making them aware of parties and get-togethers. If they deem it cool enough, it just might show up on a new Home TV episode and your party will suddenly experience a big influx of attendees. All you gotta do is send an e-mail to ho****@sc**.net and cross your fingers… It's probably a good idea that Home has its own update channel, primarily due to the significant additions frequently made over the course of any given month. These days, it's easy to miss some of the small updates given the community's expansive size. Besides, although we have the likes of Pulse and Qore, we haven't yet had anything that's exclusively dedicated to Home. So it's a nice touch.
The potential for Home has always been there and if you've been busy doing other things, you need to reacquaint yourself with the significantly upgraded PS3 community.
It's great to see Sony utilizing the potential of Home. People should be giving it a chance, it really is a unique experience.
Sony's on a ball right now. Glad to see them on an uphill slope.
Hopefully we some more improvements like this throughout the year!

All we need now is a TV appliance for our Apartment to allow us to view video from within Home, and a personal Hi-Fi so we can play our own music from within Home. I don't care about sharing these things with others, I just want to be able to enjoy them myself.
Exactly! You must be a mind reader, seriously, you always take the words out of my mouth lol
LOL! I am an average gamer with a quick typing hand…and of course, great mids think alike.
I know there is a second part to great minds thinking alike, but I never consider that option.

lol greater minds think independently?? 😛
at least I think that's how it goes 😛
but of course, great mind always think alike haha well looks like you have a faster hand than i do because you beat me to it lol
shhhh Canuk, we choose to ignore that part! haha
I always thought it was great minds think alike, fools seldom differ.
I've been putting off playstation home for a while now,I think its time to try it out.i heard there a ball drop for new years that sound cool.
Do you have to pay for anything in home?
You can buy clothes for your avatar and funishment for your apt. That's all I know that costs money. Payment is not required to participate in Home though.
I haven't visited Home in some time. Tonight i shall indulge.
im gonna try it out …dude your username is pronounced like the name johnny right? caz i've been messing it up everytime I see your post lol
I may be finally getting a PS3 withing the next couple days, I'll have to check this out
You have alot of catching up to do if you're just getting a PS3. Good luck and have fun.
@ absolutezero
What ps3 game you picking up first?
If i can infuence you i say unchated 2 and then one of the ratchet and clank games. But me thinks you should of gotten one on boxing day, i saw some pretty amazing deals!
Havent tried Home in a while but it still lacks anything interesting for me to go back. Why go there and waste countless hours just walking around playing virtual pool, chess etc. Ill rather play my recent addition to my ps3 collection.
Same here.
THIS IS PLAYSTATION HOME! *Kicks an xbot in the stomache that say it is a fail into a pit of death*….. But i will also be on later tonight to check out all the cooll new gadgets as i have not been on in a couple of months.
I bet most of the members here haven't logged on to Home in a couple months!
haven't been on home since i first bought Sodium 1…. I was under the impression we could go Player Vs. Player on that game… instead all we do is rack up score against AI and compete for 1st place… Thought the definition of MMO was that a massive amount of people interact with each-other, not be compelled to interact with AI in the hopes of competing with real people… that sounds like, well, a normal game… no need to brand it with the "MMO" Tag…
anyways, that's my mini rant… I wonder what will come with Sodium 2… hopefully something more MMO-ish
Salt Shooter is merely a game that is available within the Sodium One space. Sodium One is the 'MMO', apparently there is more to come with Sodium One…as there always is with Home.
I havnt been on Home now in about 6 months. I removed it to make space on my 60gb hd. I'll reinstall it again at some point in the future.
Now I got an external 320 gb hd that can save most of my files onto it it's just being bothered doing it all and not spending a night playing my beloved games lol.
When I was on Home I did enjoy it and laughed at the idiots saying to girls or alledged girls on there you look hot wtf is that all about lol ? It is a computer animated bunch of pixels haha used to make me laugh so much. Best thing I enjoyed was the bowling, the EA racing game was a bit easy.

I'm not sure who Home is for. I've got games to play. If I want social interactions online, then I've got multiplayer games to play.
were you all been, i love home. been getting right into Sodium one mmo. it's right addictive. got me a nice audi space too with some LBP furniture and tekken 6 goodies. you all need to check out home. it's about 100000000000000 x better than when it launched and it seems its not a stalker fest anymore. anyone know if the tv channel is live in PAL regions, if so i'm there.
I like home, but the long log in time and virtual lines kind of takes the fun out of it for me. Plus, I wish too that they would add the tvs and radios, or at least xmb custom music so at least I can listen to my music in there.
"Salt shooter" might not be the best name for anything.
I haven't downloaded Home since my PS3 broke a couple of months ago. Last time I tryed it all I played was pool, it was pretty fun. Is any better, is it worth redownloading?
well if ben's okay with me posting my link ive made a crap load of home video's and update it reguarly so would appreciate it if you check it out and subscride. it would also help if anyones still sceptical about re-downloading home.

lag free i hope?
i remember trying to watch the E3 speech on home this year and first it took bloody 10 minutes to buffer the video.
than every 5 words jack would get out it would pause to buffer even more.
i had to turn it off and watched the whole thing on my laptop instead, lucky IGN broadcast it.
i probably could of watched the whole thing on my laptop in the time it took to buffer 5 minutes on home.
i really wish sony would stop being such tight asses and shell out for some decent servers, im getting sick of my net on my ps3 being so freaking slow!
if i have to shell out 10 bucks a month for faster servers, so be it, JUST SORT IT OUT!
hello …
i agree with TheHighlander: we need more of these in our apartments, like the Audi TV in it's respective one.
would be nice if we could switch channels too on different stuffs on PS HOME as in real life .. ha!
the music option is a long asked feature, would be so nice, as well as some wall-mounted digital photo frame, it must be easy to implement … COME ON!!!
as for the speed of PSN/HOME, actually i'm surprise for i have better bandwidth on the PS3 than on PC, i can stream videos or play games much better on my slow connection, the protocol it used must be different & not filtered …still would like having better one for a real smooth experience.
thank you SONY for bringing more content to us, looking forward to what's next!
huh, btw happy new year everyone!
cheers!
