Ben-DutkaIf you haven't yet played Uncharted 2: Among Thieves online, you're really missing out. Even if it's not as popular as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , it's still a different sort of satisfying fun.
And now's the best time to be involved. As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , they're starting up another Double Cash weekend that begins today at 10:00 a.m. PST and ends on Sunday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. PST. No matter what you play during this period of time, you will earn double the cash for all your kills and earned medals…yep, you even get double the rewards for medals this time. It's a little holiday bonus for all you Uncharted 2 lovers out there, and it's likely to increase activity on the servers over the weekend. Also, to lighten the intensity of competition and enliven the holiday spirit, the players will be sporting colorful Santa hats while dodging the flying bullets. There's something oddly unsettling about that but hey, we just like the idea of double cash for our actions. If you ask around, you might be surprised at how well the online multiplayer works, and just how addicting it can be for those who are looking for a change of pace. MW2 is super fast and although it does offer the third-person option, it certainly doesn't feature the same mechanics as U2. It's just…different.
We all have to be diverse in our game playing choices, right? So maybe now's the time to give Uncharted 2 online multiplayer a shot.

U2 isn't my favorite game online for numerous reasons, but I can still find some fun in it. Hopefully this will attract more players. The meager 5000 or so that play it, isn't a great sign.

i'm pretty certain i'm getting this for christmas so, i will partake in this venture either tomorrow or during the weekend… since i already have some experience with the mechanics because of the beta testing earlier this year, it shouldn't be much of a problem to just jump right into the online modes after only a few chapters… i wanna take advantage of the double money since i am about 2 months behind the rest of the world…
I beat the game last night (love the banter during the outro at the end), started Crushing difficulty…Gotta work my way to that Platinum.

Good Job ND way to support your product and appreciate your loyal customers, however few in number they may be, they have my vote for studio of the year it's one thing to make an awesome game and then forget it existed from a dev point of view (see MW2 the most recent patch was the only one with visible results) but the ones that release awesome games and continue to support them are the ones that really deserve our respect and hard earned money. Don't hate on the mw2 comment either I play it quite often and if you do to then you know I'm not lying.
This is great. I was hoping for a Christmas present from N.Dog by the way of a new map like they did with The Fort for Thanksgiving.
Maybe that is still on its way? Here is hoping…
As anyone who reads here may remember I am not a huge fan of online shooters. However Uncharted 2's online component still manages to drag me back in. Perhaps it's not for the twitch shooter fan, but it's pretty much pick up and play.

I love the single player of uncharted 2, especially after you unlock all the "tweaks", but it's multiplayer can really hit the nerves sometimes. Those grenades throws where you hit R2 after holding R1 are extremely hard to run away from.

I agree with you Ben. When you first said there would be Santa hats on everybody I found that very unsettling.
Yes… let's don our festive hats and then go out and shoot, punch, choke, and kill each other… cause hey, it's the holidays!
