Now, if you were on top of things, you registered earlier for a chance to be in the beta test. Those who registered before March 12, 2009 (unlikely, but whatever) will automatically receive a code for the beta and if you bought the Game of the Year Edition of LBP, you also have a code. Otherwise, you had to register between December 3 and December 13 for a shot at scoring one of the remaining beta codes and if you succeeded, you have already seen an e-mail like this:
"Buckle up and boost, drift, and shoot your way to the front of the pack! The ModNation Racers online Beta rumbles from 12/18/09 through 1/10/10. Your online Beta voucher code is valid for redemption on 12/18/09."
Remember, the beta is only available for North American residents and ends on January 10 so if you're in, take advantage while you can! Also, if you were one of the lucky ones to receive this e-mail, you should've also seen a "limited" ModNation Racers Theme for your PS3. There are plenty of reasons to be enthusiastic about a game like this; we very much liked the E3 presentation where we saw a guy create his own racetrack in under five minutes. LBP has proven how far you can take this concept…just apply it to the world of racing.

I've had a code for a little over a month now. ( Got it with LBP:GOY ). Was wondering what this code was all about. It says on my code sheet:
"Promotion Code Valid 9/8/2009 – 1/31/2010"
So when I tried in Nov to redeem this code (2 months after the indicated start date) I was confused why it wasn't working.
Today I could finally redeem my code. It appears now to be running from 12/18/2008 – 1/10/2010, contrary to my code sheet lol.
It appears this game might have been delayed until June. Bummer.
I've been playing it the last couple days. It's fantastic! I love it!
