Survival/horror fans everywhere were overjoyed to hear about Dead Space 2 and you can bet we'll see a Collectors Edition for this hotly anticipated sequel.
But what might be included? We've seen some seriously over-the-top special packages in the past year, including that ridiculous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition featuring night vision goggles. Then we've got the incoming God of War III Collectors set that will ship in a sweet Pandora's Box and remember, EA did sell a $150 Collectors for the original Dead Space . Therefore, maybe we should expect yet another insane bundle when the details are officially announced…and maybe we'll actually get a life-size replica of the Plasma Cutter! During a recent video EA put up on Facebook , Dead Space 2 executive producer Steve Papoutsis talks about several topics and answered one fan who suggested having the aforementioned collectible. Papoutsis replied:
"Yeah, that would be pretty bad-ass, and I think maybe we might look into things like that. Can't promise but I certainly would love to have one."
Of course, we should also remember the original title got extras like a separate animated feature and comic book, so maybe they'll toss that into the Collectors Edition. If they're going to go all-out, we may as well have some usable content, right? Then again, the idea of a freakin' Plasma Cutter sitting at home is actually a little appealing… Would you want one?

I want a life sized and functional tier 5 engineering suit.
that would be pretty bad-ass lol depends on the price too…
It would have to be able to swivel between horizontal and vertical.
But then again the marker looks pretty sweet. I could for a nice set of marker bookends! HA!
wow! You have to ask yourself is it really worth it? I realize that the details aren't final on what this will include but, I mean come on what are we going to do with these random objects if we aren't die hard collectors? NVG's with CoD might have been worth it I didn't get to see how cheaply they were made, GTA4 CE was amazing they gave you a ton of stuff, RE5 CE felt like it was made in a sweatshop seriously what was that satchel made of fiberglass? And wtf am I going to do with a Special Operative Patch? I'm just saying I don't like crappy CE's some go above and beyond their price tag IMO while others take you for a ride. I know I don't have to buy it if I don't want but it's the fact that some companies just put CE on a box and ask an extra $40 for it with the only difference being $9.99 dlc included or some bogus crap stop ripping gamers off and give them their money's worth.
Sounds kind of neat but no, I wouldn't pay money for it. I'll definitely be getting the game though.
plasma sold separately
Thought EA learned their leason about packaging weapons with games 😉
I still need to finish this game.
I wouldn't mind having that plasma cutter so I can freak my friends out with it. The first game was a pleasant surprise so I might get the CE if it has good stuff in it. I didn't know there was a CE for the original DS. What was included in it?
i really dont want to hear any more about this.
the more i read about it the more it disappoints me and sounds like this will be the next resident evil 5.
i never pass pre judgment on games, i allways wait till i try them.
but this sounds like disappointment of 2010, or whenever it releases.
please visceral i loved dead space, its a survival horror game please dont turn it into a action game.
please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 resident evil 5 was enough.
I don't think they will change the core gameplay; that's what made it awesome.
On another note. So mad when I found out every gun had a alternate shooting mode. Found out 3/4 of the way into the game! I accidently pressed some random button and what-do-ya-know my plasma cutter can now shoot horizontally. All those times trying to shoot vertically outstretched limbs hoping for that perfect shot! Gotta tell you though, I became one hell of a marksman! Lol.
i would like a life-size dirtbike with my $150 collector's edition of motocross games
