Although we had all assumed Square-Enix would provide us with some sort of special edition for Final Fantasy XIII , no such item had been confirmed. But according to The Lost Gamer , Square-Enix has announced there will most certainly be a Collectors Edition and for now, we'll just assume that it'll come to both North American and European gamers in March. The following statement showed up in the latest edition of the Square-Enix Europe newsletter:
"If you thought your excitement for FINAL FANTASY XIII had reached fever pitch, brace yourself for the news of a forthcoming Limited Collector’s Edition version of next year’s most anticipated title. What’s in the box you ask? I’m afraid we’re keeping schtum for the time being, but rest assured that the extras will be well worth the wait."
I've never heard of "schtum" before but I think we all get the gist. So we have no idea what they're going to include in this special package but given the fact that publishers have gone crazy with these bundles lately, one can only imagine… Actually, that's a good question: what do you think they'll feature in the Collectors Edition of FFXIII? Or rather, what do you want them to include? For my part, I don't mind a few nifty collectibles here and there but really, I want more in the way of actual content. Cross your fingers and hope for tangible goodies.

Depending on what's in it, I could possibly make my first ever CE purchase for a video game. I don't want any figurines though, unless they talk and give clues when you get stuck on something you can't work out.
Yes i agree i couldnt care less for the toy. I only get Special Editions if they have either an Art Book or Making of Documentary.
I sincerely hope it isn't additional in game content. I'd prefer the whole game be intact in both versions even though I plan to get the collectors edition. A figurine, making of disc, sountrack, and tin case would be ideal

i was just wondering this is about the time to reveal teh collector's edition and now here it comes, regardless, i will pre-order that. hopefully, it includes a nice tin box with better box art, an exclusive strategy book and concept art, a blue ray review of FF history and the FFv13 demo, and a sound track. that is what i want in the collectors
