If you didn't watch the Spike TV Video Game Awards, you missed the debut trailer for the freshly announced Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 . The game was mostly shut out – although developer Rocksteady Studios won Studio of the Year – but the original gem clearly warrants a sequel.
Not long afterward, Geoff Keighley posted an update on his Twitter page, asking if anyone just so happened to catch signs of the new villains Rocksteady will feature in the second effort. Well, Ripten really broke it down, analyzing the video in detail and, with the help of a few readers, may have pinned down the newcomers. First of all, we know that both the Joker and Harley will return but in addition, there's a good chance we'll see The Penguin, Two Face, Catwoman, and Black Mask. The clue for Penguin involves what appears to be the word "Iceberg" on a building (referring to the Iceberg Lounge, property of the villain in question). Then there's lettering on a wall that spells "Sionis," and the true Batman aficionados will know that Black Mask's real name is Roman Sionis. The third clue is a "We Want You"-like poster that appears to boast a coin-flipping character with a messed up face…obviously, an indication of Two Face's involvement. Last but not least, there's the possibility of Catwoman, as you will spot a black cat lurking on a fire escape. Readers have brought other possible villains into the limelight, including Shadow Thief, so feel free to read through and watch the trailer yourself; you might be able to spot something new.
But anyway, we're just psyched that Arkham Asylum 2 is on the way, because I think we can all agree that the first title was the single best superhero video game ever. Right?

Oh sweet. I'm the first to comment. Nice and I will definitely be going to check out that trailer ASAP
Everybody gets one.
World, I gotta do it one time too… just for the fun of it… been on here so long that I am bursting to do it… so wait for my first posting comment; it will be a Q moment to remember!
Q!
"i am home"
Sorry to clog the comments with this, but hey Q, I still don't know why you put a Q and then "I am home" at the end of your messages. Someone else mentioned it awhile ago and I don't remember you answering.
I laugh when I think of noobs trying to figure out what I'm talking about, inside joke and all. I'll keep an eyeball out. Honestly, I've wanted to do it too 😉
And well kowho Qubex was reeeaaaly waiting for HOME to debut back in the day.
Is Bool a Stephen King Reference?
I haven't done it yet world, do I still get one? lol
spiderman says no..
looks like another game to rent, batman was to short
I don't think it was any shorter than the average action/ adventure game these days and the gameplay and overall quality was way better than average.
These guys will get my money again for sure.
Nice. Loved the first one. Would be nice if they used another engine.
i dont mind if it used the same engine. i only wished it will have a lot more replayability after beating the story and not just challenge rooms.
Are they actually calling it Arkham Asylum 2? Is it going to be in the Asylum again? Hopefully just a working title.
yeah, I mean I know they want it to be like AA in its quality but they need to branch out.
I did a survey last year, It was aboot "a new game idea" The idea was to have a whole city that was destrucible, by either you or bad guys. I know lemme finnish. Each building that is destroyed has an impact on stocks in "your company" and in turn has an effect on your progress. There is alot more to the game than that, but I'm using my DS3 to type. The last thing is, that they showed a picture of batman throughout the whole survey. Hopefully this will be part of the next batman game.

Obviously you missed the part where the Arkham inmates were running amok in Gotham City. It looks like you won't be at the Asylum this time around.
Well I only played the demo for AA and loved it, but I have to wait for the price to lower because I'm way busy with other stuff right now and well quality or no it is a multiplat.
I'm sure Rocksteady can kick it up a notch. And yeah, bring on more sexy supervillains and stuff.
This was the only multiplat I didn't regret paying $60 for this gen. Well worth it.
I don't doubt that it is, but ya can't play em all "off the bat" get it?
Ha!
Def looking forward to this. All I ask is for the RockSteady crew to allow players to use the Batmobile/Batplane to traverse the city. Using the grappling hook to travel across rooftops would be pretty dope as well.
First day buy for sure.
Played the demo but never got into it 🙁
Q!
"i am home"
Nice! Day 1 buy for me!
Wow! To have already have figured out this many villains are in a unreleased game…well…well…I'd call that criminal!
I still haven't played Arkham Asylum. Its been on my to do list for so long now. Have read nothing but positive things about it. Will grab a copy and spend my week off over christmas finally giving it the attention it seems to deserve.
I'm surprised Catwoman and Two-Face didn't show up on the first game. They are classic characters with lots of personality.
Gotta save some for the sequels of course.
nice.
i really hope they bring back the voice of the joker, i thought he had retired now.
no one can imitate the master.
i would go off my freaking mind if this was a open world game.
imagine a batman game, but open world like GTA set in gotham city.
o great, i need to go change now.
Well that is just some great news. Was there any hint at when it might come? As for the "analysts," all I gotta say is "well done." Where would we be without them?
REALLY looking forward to this! The first game is stellar and I am looking forward to playing through again over the holidays, along with Uncharted 2. I was concerned about them calling it Arkham Asylum 2, but to me it looks like the name only and that it will take place in Gotham rather than the Asylum. It appears from the trailer that the inmates may have been set loose on Gotham and Batman has to round them up.
Yep, nicely deciphered by the analysts. I was pretty sure Two-Face was going to be in a sequel because Batman is called to a Gotham city bank 'cause of Two-Face. I also imagined Killer Croc was going to return because he shows up in the ending of Batman: AA. What a class game.
@ Titch179, there were 3 different endings. Bane, scarecrow, and Killer Croc.
I still never beat the original yet. Had it on my modded 360 and still waitin on a new hack to make sure I don't get banned. Plan on buying it for PS3 ne ways for the Joker but waitin to get it as a Xmas present. Spending my cash this week on RnC:ACiT and Dragons Age baby!

The Game is Awesome! I want to see what kind of villains are in the game. Hopefully we see The Riddler
I want to see Clayface.
WOOOOOO I can't wait for this. I hope theres at least A LITTLE Robin action.
That sounds so dirty…
Frankly don't care for any Batman pals showing up. Batman has always really been about the villains. From the trailer we're obviously expecting to see Joker, Harley Q, and Two-Face. Can't wait to see who else will be making a major appearance.
Oh and I hope they get Kevin & Mark to do the voices for just one more time
Yes they both have signed to come back and do voices. And Arleen Sorkin will be back as Harley.
