I got a friend who murdered out his ps3, with spray paint and a sharpie even the controls and lights, and it looks so cool and still works good.
To be honest, I have the money to buy this golden ps3 but I will NEVER buy it. It's way too impractical to buy a ps3 that's worth a $5k.

Usually a ps3 controller is priced at $55. A PS3 is priced at $300. This means that a PS3 is worth $245 without the controller. So a controller is around 1/5 the price of the actual console. So in order to find the price of the gold 24kt controller, scale up the the price of the original PS3 including the controller. So 300x=5000, x=16.67. So the price of the console has been scaled up by 16.67. Finally, multiply this number by the controller normally priced at $55, so 55*16.67=916.85. So the controllers alone cost $916.85. By purchasing a single golden controller, you could have bought four black controllers, just about all the awesome games you want right now, and still have money left for the great games being released in Q1 2010. But hey, who can turn down such a "sparkling" deal.
Hehe…if anybody actually buys this on this website, you better be rich, or dying in a week, because this price is just too ridiculous. I actually prefer black anyways, it compliments just about all my other entertainment technologies connected to it and just about everything else in my room. So Computer Choppers, you can take that gold piece of sh** and shove it up…in a very deep a narrow area because I got what I need for a SUPER discount compared to what you're trying to sell me right now. that thing is too "BLING" for me. Standard black is fine, although I wish Sony colored in the PS3 logo on the slim so it matched the chrome by the power and eject buttons. Come to think of it, I'd like to see the PlayStation grey color on a PS3. You know the original PlayStation, NOT PS1 as that was more white-ish.
