Publishers are always happy when a game drags in super high review scores, which is why Sega has an ear-to-ear smile thanks to Bayonetta 's critical reception thus far.
Although the game hasn't released in North America yet – it's scheduled for January 5 – multiple sources have already said the game is downright stellar. Perhaps the evaluations that get the most attention are Edge Magazine's perfect 10 out of 10, Famitsu's perfect 40/40 and Eurogamer's solid 9 out of 10. Therefore, according to MCVUK , Sega will be taking advantage of this critical acclaim to help promote the game. After referencing the aforementioned scores, senior product manager Ben Walker said:
"The launch campaign will be an accolade driven campaign with heavy weight TV, online and print advertising. It is a campaign that reflects the confidence that we have in this title."
He goes on to say that releasing Bayonetta in Q1 2010 was a "strategic move" and they're now confident it "will be the first triple-A release" of the year. After my time with the kick-ass demo , I agree that it'll be something special although the drawbacks evident in the demo make it tough to agree with a perfect score. But at the very least, it should be a treat for all action fans, especially those who have enjoyed ultra-challenging titles in the Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry franchises.

I enjoyed the demo, can't wait for the game.
Ah damn, I only have enough budget for one more game, now I'm stuck between Bayonneta and Dante's Inferno, someone help me!!
There's a demo of Dante's Inferno appearing on PSN Thursday. That should aid you in your decision.
Bayonetta dude … bayonetta
I believe there is a demo coming for Dante soon, isn't there? Maybe that can help decide. I enjoyed Bayonetta's demo as well. I'm looking forward to playing the full game.
Edit: brighat beat me to it with a solid answer

I couldn't even finish the demo because of the camera angle. I walk to the corner and the camera spins around in an arkward position.
I notice a bit of a framerate slowdown. Is it possible for Sony to fix the coloring? It seem a bit washed out in the demo, or is Sony only fixing the framerates?
The demo rocks. I'm curious though, Ben. What didn't you like about it? Or did you already do a preview and I missed it?
Since I can't edit my comment anymore, I'll answer my own question..
Ben did review it and the camera was the main issue. I agree totally. Although it can be adjusted in the options menu, it still doesnt track 100% effectively.
Game still rocks though
Ha! Those high scores still won't get me to buy a game that has as much screen tearing as it does and sports a chick who has wears pistols for high heels. That's almost as lame as those retarded chainsaw rifles in gears.
I agree, I didn't care for the demo at all.
I wanted to like it… but the demo wasn't very good at all. Graphical issues asides, it felt like a poor man's DMC. But with a really bad story and j-pop music.
the music,Bayo appearance, the focus on her body and his combos are what all otaku's want in their games .
I like to read manga (my avatar from eyeshield 21) but I don't like too much the cheesiness plot and character that appears in some of them like this game has.
again…SEGA JUST GIVE US YAKUZA 3!

yeah this game was that great. it's ok. but the chain saw guns is gears are sick
The demo wasn't bad. Was the demo the final representation of the PS3 version (ie the one that was tinkered with due to it being a below-par version)?
Am I the only one who is not intrested in this game?
No, after I heard about it I already decided that it's either a pass or a rental… I don't know what it is but I just can't get excited about it.
Im with you killzone100.
Not interested at the moment. Tons of epic has just shown up in my game collection so there's very little incentive to buy this at full price.
I still have yet to beat DMC 4 and not purchased NG 2 yet so this is definitely a wait for me. The demo didn't really impress me at all either. Definitely grabbin Dantes over this.
Other than the balky camera view, I enjoyed the demo.
Here's to hoping the camera angles get fixed for the full game.
To whomever(you know who you are)
A thumbs-down for that????
"Stick your thumbs-down up your own ass", since it's apparent that that's where it belongs, seeing how you act like an 8 yer old biatch who is need of any anal pacifier of moderate length.
Here, have a cookie before your daily bedtime enema!
cant wait for this game! 2010 year 4 games and year of PS3!
Not buying a 360 for this (or any) game.
I have a strong gut feeling that Darksiders will be the best game released on January 5, 2010.
i played the bayonetta demo and it was cool and all, but way to sabotage the PS3 version, platinum! i sincerely hope this game flops on 360 and is outsold at least 2:1, because i really like the developers' past games, and would like to see them develop for our machine. y'know, instead of sharting out poopy ports…
i'm sorry if the above post came across as extremely negative…when i was reading it back to myself, i realized i sounded like a negative nancy.
still excited for Darksiders, though. 😉
"will be the first triple-A release"
"the confidence that we have in this title."
Pure examples of delusions of grandeur
This game looks completely out of control. Enemy models look like a mess and the action feels unwieldy. I'm going to pass.
i agree with you! its a button mashers dream though. i feel like when im playing i have no control over the character, she feels weightless. When doing some combos the stick is involved and as easy as moving the stick in a circle its hard to hit the combo right, using it in the middle of all the button mashing.
i will say it was fun definitely, but i like control over my character. Kratos and the GOW series perfected the movement in a game where combos push the fighting!
i felt like when i was playing i didnt know if i was continuing a combo or getting beat down because the movement and all the brihgt colors from a swinging leg, cluttered the screen and brought the character out of focus! not to mention the horrible cut scenes, ugh! it was fun though ill give it that!

I'm sorry but if Bayonetta doesn't see any improvement on Playstation 3 then I will not bother even purchasing this lazy creation
Have yet to download the demo. I need to though. If I had a choice between this and Dante's Inferno, I would go with Dante's Inferno. Don't take my word for it though, my opinion is as by-assed as a die-hard American history teacher's thoughts about American History. Hehe…download the massive demo this Thursday and you'll be able to make up your mind. I already have.
funny, the part everyone is praising is the one part i really dont like.
the combat, i mean some people are saying its better than GOW.
its not even better than DMC let alone ninja gaiden let alone GOW.
but than i seriously cant see how you can compare bayonetta to GOW or even ninja gaiden.
the combat and pacing of the game is just completley different.
GOW is a rush through and rip everything to shreds game, a wreak havoc on everything your attacks are spread out broadly.
GOW is like surgery with a chainsaw.
where bayonetta is like surgery with a scalpel.
