Take-Two Will Continue To Pursue Borderlands

After Gearbox called the possibility of a Borderlands sequel a "no-brainer," publisher Take-Two has decided to back them up on that claim.

According to Kotaku , Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said the game in question enjoyed a "successful launch" and exhibits all the necessary signs for "becoming an important long-term franchise." He didn't take the next step and confirm a sequel but at this point, it's probably safe to assume that Gearbox will be cranking away on that project some time very soon. We're hoping the sequel doesn't go through the same lengthy development process the original had to suffer through, and although we're not the biggest fans of Borderlands , we're certain the next title will be better. We also know the first title has already dragged in legions of fans who have embraced the role-playing/FPS hybrid with open arms. Furthermore, this only proves that anyone who says Take-Two is a one-trick pony (citing GTA) isn't living in the here and now; the publisher has a great many awesome games in their stables. And when Borderlands 2 gets announced, that'll be another Take-Two game to look forward to.

We'll let you know when we hear more about this, and if you have any ideas for Gearbox concerning possible upgrades for the sequel, feel free to let 'em know via our Comments section below.

Just finished it tonight. Pretty good game but simple. Maybe tomorrow I'll finish up the platinum and move on to Dragon Age to get some meat.

Agreed, fun but simple. Hopefully the sequel will have *much* harder bosses (with significally better loot too – can *never* have enough loot! 🙂 ) and more RPG content.

They should fix some of the problems with Borderlands before they worry about a sequel.

borderlands had so much going for it, i really wanted and still want to get into it.
1st they need to fix up the fu***ng bugs, the slowdown the pop in, the freezing, the saved data corruption jesus christ this thing has more issues than mercenaries 2.
dident think that was possible!
than remove the infinite repetitive enemies.
your constantly fighting the same enemies there is absolutely no variety.
and they keep respawning, just like GOW you kill 10 enemies so another 10 appear so you kill those 10 so another 10 appear so you kill those 10 so another 10 appear so you kill 10 so another 10 appear.
JESUS TAP DANCING CHRIST! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
i like killing things for the sake of it, as much as the next guy.
but you can only go so far before it gets really annoying.
i remember 5th quest i think it was you had to collect these purple spikes, and every time i would run in circles i would pick up a few extra enemies.
it was like lap 1 i had 5 chasing me, lap 2 10 lap 3 15 lap 4 20 lap 5 25 lap 6 30.
that really killed it for me, i would of kept the game and put up with the save data corruptions, but running around killing enemies that just respawn anyway?
that killed it for me.
whats the point of killing something if its just going to respawn?

I don't know how you played this game, but enemies would respawn after a certain time frame. If you cleared an area, it would stay clear for at least 10 minutes. Even if you left the area.

A couple times I got stuck when the difficulty of the enemies ramped up from my level, but I just went back when I was a couple levels higher with a better gun and handled it effortlessly.

The main key in the game is to level yourself up, get good perks and some decent guns and you fly through it.

What was genious was the dialogue and the cell shading. I really enjoyed this game and was hopeful they'd do some more dlc for it. It only took me a few hours to 100% the zombie addition. They should have made the trophies harder for it. Maybe a gold for finishing all the missions or a new level cap like Fallout 3.

@ JPBooch – The game was fantastic. This guy's clueless as to how game's are to be played in general so it's no wonder he is all hot and bothered over Borderlands. It's an RPG for crying out loud. Of course the enemies re-spawn!

your pc enthusiasm is quite annoying now! Great u like ur pc better, great ur pc version of borderlands has less bugs. i dont care, i still get to enjoy the same game!

My buddy has been a PC gamer pretty much his whole life and he owns cyber center here in southern oregon, which is a neat place by the way cus it has the pc store, a family restaraount with full bar (now if only he'd put PS3 instead of 360's at every booth it'd be sick), and he has a lan center all in the same complex. anyways he recently bought a ps3 to game with me and he loves it! in fact so much so that he hasnt played his pc but a couple hours since he bought it. He even owns wait for it… yes FPS on the ps3 over his pc. He bought an adaptor to hook up a keyboard and mouse to the PS3 and he says it works great. He had to fine tune it but honestly he went from 8-12 (kills to deaths) in MW2 to 20-8. Now for me the whole keyboard and mouse doesnt do it for me, but for him the joysticks didnt cut it.

My point is everyone has a preference. i understand you have an opinion which is great but the way you push it is annoying! get over your box for a second look at the website your at and notice that the majority plays a PS3 ok…

im not trying to be rude but really more than half your posts contain ur opinion about how the PC is a better gaming platform, and honestly i dont care because i still get to play most the same games, and even better ones (uncharted 2, KillZone 2, MGS4, LBP, inFamous etc.) on my PS3. ok…

im not bashing the pc either btw, just your comments! and many other people may not mind but i do because its a constant annoyance and youve had many arguments with ben, and other PSXE members about it, and you wont let it go!

I only bring up PC gaming when it's related to a topic someone brings up. If someone is complaining about a FPS on their PS3 than I'm there to explain this could be solved by picking it up on the PC. I play far more on my PS3 than my PC but I'm smart enough to know what games deserve my time on PC over the PS3.

I don't push the PC, I simply point out when it's the superior platform for certain genres and games.

thats the point.
i cant level myself up, because when i was in that mission every time i went to collect the item required to complete the level i had 100 enemies nipping my a$$.
so i would kill them collect the item, find the next one and have another 100 enemies nipping my a$$.
exactly like GOW they just make you kill to many enemies.
i should have to kill a group of enemies and thats it, move on with the mission.
not kill this group, than that group than that group than that group.
killing them was not the problem, that was easy.
it was the amount of enemies that was the problem.
it reminds me of far cry 2, you cant take 2 steps outside your door without someone trying to blow your head off.
imagine playing AC2 with guards constantly chasing you it would be annoying no?

I really enjoyed the game. If they fix the slowdown issues and make a bigger badder world with more enemy and location variety it will be great.
