We have only one question: "how hardcore are you?"
If you reside in Europe and have always dreamed of becoming a world class race driver, you might want to test your skills against others in the next iteration of the GT Academy. As revealed at the Euro PlayStation Blog , this year's virtual competition begins on December 17; it all centers on the GT Academy 2010 Time Trial. If you can pass this test, you will be officially entered into the Academy for your formal training but to get that far, you'll need to do something pretty darn special: you'll have to qualify within the top 20 in your country, and then , you'll participate in the national final event, where you'll race against the other qualifiers. Get past that, and you can join the elite 20 that will make it into the GT Academy. And as you can see, everyone will be using the new Nissan 370Z in one of two possible versions for the Time Trial, which is ridiculously cool (PSXE veterans know why). Yeah, Nissan's sports car is popping up everywhere, from hardcore racing competitions to pornstars' driveways. In this particular case, though, it almost doesn't matter what you drive, provided you're a master at controlling it around the given track.
Perhaps the best part about this is being able to go hands-on with Gran Turismo 5 (or maybe it's more of a Prologue build) this year. If you think you've got what it takes, maybe you should start preparing now…practice, but do it on a TV screen, yes?
Absolutely noway i'd ever make it. i barely play prologue. however. gt5 release = me buy wheel + practice damn hard.
remindes me of when the demo for Grid came out, and the person with the the top time online won a tuned up mustang. I really like the idea of going from simulator to the real thing and seeing if it can actually make good race drivers.
The big news is that it is a demo for GT5. It's based on the newest physics model and featuring a new track for the GT franchise: most likely the road course section of Daytona Speedway.
The new track will be spa or indy
….hopes the appearance of the 370Z somehow causes a sudden and massive drop in the value of the 350Z…so I can buy one!

From what I have read is that it's a GT5 build. Regardless, I will be downloading it!
The 17th cannot get here soon enough.
I wonder how many new European PSN accounts will be created to obtain this demo?
Hey that's my birthday.
😀
I got you a present..
Can't Wait. I was in the top 20 last time for the first 3 days lol. Then my PS3 yellow lighted :(. But atleast we will get out hands on GT5.
Hell yeah!
But too bad I haven't upgraded to a new PS3 wheel, so I won't be able to get the hardcore times like I should.
December 17th, you rock!
Indeed.
Between MW2, DA Origins, and now the GT5 demo.
I am set.
It should've been Indianapolis instead of what I stated (Daytona).
Is this the same as the one on the US playstation blog? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/12/announcing-the-gran-turismo-5-time-trial-challenge/
Never mind I don't think it is.
What are you talking about.
Yes they're 100% the same thing
dec 17 thats my bday, maybe thats a sign?
nah i dont want to die on my bday.
hopefully that demo will be out by then so i can virtually try to beat a few records.
one thing i hope they do is since there having the top gear track in there, i hope they include the stigs times for each track so i can see how close to his times i can get.
who knows, i maybe a F1 driver after all 😉
but do it on a TV screen?
why?
