The PSN is home to some of the most original and entertaining little titles of the generation, and we've already seen some excellent efforts in the PixelJunk franchise.
Well, yet another is prepared to hit the Store next week: it's PixelJunk Shooter , which will be available to buy on December 10. You can view what we consider to be the launch interview at the PlayStation Blog, where SCEE's Jem Alexander speaks with Q Games President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert about the unique old-school-style shooter. You get a great look at the gameplay in that trailer and as you can see, it takes the concept of 2D shooting and brings it to a new level; the concepts in these games are always simple, but they're also both ingenious and extremely well implemented. If you've played any of the PixelJunk titles in the past, you know how original – and how addictive – they typically are, so you'll definitely want to snag this one next week. Granted, it now has to battle recently released gems like Braid and Trine but this is further proof of the diverse quality that can be found online. Anybody think we'll have to give PixelJunk some sort of downloadable lifetime achievement award in like 10 years time?
Anyway, watch the video and decide for yourself. If you're not familiar, it's likely to surprise you…

Gravity Crash is also worth an old-school look.
I learned my lesson from PJ Monsters. No more for me.
LOL! I was just gonna say, Alienange's gonna love this. I was figuring based on your less-than-flattering comments about blockbuster hits such as "Braid", that 2D psn downloadables aren't quite your thing. But really, I just checked out the vid, and those new fluid dynamics, and it's really worth a peek.
I'm more against the price than anything. A game is a game. But $10? $15?! Not for me. Not anymore.
pixel junk monsters is one of the best and most addicting tower defense games ever! its worth the $10 and the $5 for the dlc for sure!
Then again thats what i think…
This game looks fun in sorts, but i didnt like eden, and racers was ok… But really they are ingenious games that deserve credit!
PJ Monsters destroys any other PSN content out there. I play it on my PS3 and PSP long after finishing countless other 60 dollar games for my PS3.
PixelJunk Monsters is a great tower defence game, pretty sure their was a demo also.
Limited Vertigo-
Same here its such a fun game. i wish it had co-op online though!
This looks good, might get it with my first psn card.
they should do a pixeljunk pack, all of the games at discount, together somehow.
They did that in Asia.
I imported the compilation with PJ Racer, PJM, and PJ Eden on it.
i seen this game a long time ago thought it was cool but just not shure about that 10 buck price tag and alienage what happend with u and PJ? i got eden never beat it but played it some the only reason i really got it was because trophies lol trophy whore lol
Well buddy, since you asked, let me tell you what happened between me and PJ. I gave them a decent sum of my money and they gave me a boring bag of 1s and 0s. A lot of people like Monsters and say it's their best game. I see that as a sure warning sign that the other two games are junk. 1 out of 3 is poor odds. I'm not about to throw more money at PJ hoping their fourth game is good.
well I guess I have something to use that free psn card I got with the GOW collection on
what you got a psn card with the gow collection
read the article https://temp.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/6215.html, It's to late to get the deal now but it was pretty good while it lasted
I still can't believe they went with the name "Shooter."
Very bland, kinda meh even. Anyways, looks like a good way to kill a few minutes, but like most PSN releases I'll wait till the price reflects my interest in the product.
PJ games are great to play when you're high…err um, so i'm told… 😉
meh, my download usages going to the dantes inferno demo.
its suppose to be a full level so im expecting 3GBs + hope not but well, GOW3s demo lasts 10 minutes and its 2.7GBs so yea.
sh*t ive gotta stop downloading things, 12GBs in 2 days.
how the ^%$# is that possible?
owell at least now my PSP is loaded with PS1 classics.
now all i need it twisted metal, the suffering and POINT BLANK! and im set.
How do you play Point Blank w/out a GunCon?
I know you can use the face buttons and d-pad, but that control scheme is wonky for a light gun game.
did guncons even exist back then?
all i remember is playing it with the original PS1 controller, the one without analogue sticks.
I'll take a peek at it. Not making any promises, gotta save up for the big stuff to come.
