Duke Nukem Back To Life In “D-Day?”

As we all know, the long, long, long -awaited Duke Nukem Forever finally died a merciful death after 3D Realms got rid of the majority of its development team. But now, thanks to a mysterious Facebook update , Duke has returned…at least in rumor form.

As you can see, the game in question is supposedly called, "Duke Nukem: D-Day" and this seems to be some sort of viral marketing campaign. The profile administrator says "Duke Nukem doesn't stay down for long" and there's even a screenshot that shows a soldier opening fire on some gigantic monster in the midst of an arena. Now, as GameSpot points out, that picture might come from leaked DNF footage that came to light this past May. The video can be seen through the link (it contains some potentially offensive content, though, so be careful) and now everyone is wondering: is "D-Day" a renamed Forever ? Or are we looking at more evidence of Gearbox Software's Duke Begins title, which previously held a 2010 estimated launch date before they were forced to stop development? Currently, neither Take-Two Interactive or 3D Realms have had anything to say about this, and Gearbox has remained silent on the issue as well.

So what's going on? Why can't we ever just get some clear news on the status of any Duke-related video game? This must be some sort of great cosmic joke…
