If you've been playing Tekken 6 , you've likely noticed the severe issues when playing online. Namco promised to address the problems with a patch and that patch has finally arrived.
As revealed by PS3Attitude , this 15MB patch really does enhance the online experience and fixes most of the major drawbacks that hindered multiplayer match play. We now have improved input response (the game responds better to button/command inputs), selectable search priorities for ranked matches, organized data transmission between fighters and spectators, the option to cancel any given match, and helpful signal strength bars. But perhaps above all else is the greatly enhanced stability; if you check around the Internet, those who have tested the new and improved Tekken 6 online say it's a much better experience. Before, many claimed it really wasn't even playable due to the significant issues many faced, but this patch should open the floodgates for more fulfilling (and less frustrating) multiplayer matches. This is one of those times when, almost immediately upon release, the fans were calling for a fix, and although it took about a month, that fix is here.
We're fairly certain that Namco will be keeping an eye on things so if you still have problems, make sure to be vocal about them. Developers hate to have bad vibes floating around.

I wonder if the need for this patch in the beginning reflected in the mediocre reviews? This also makes me wonder if Namco is another "lazy dev" that releases a game when it isn't 100% knowing they can just patch it later, they had to have beta tested it in house and noticed the severe online issues I would think.
they aren't lazy…they just spend a lot of time with the 360 version because it was very difficult to make that port.
Damn my 360 if it was to blame!
so Oxvial you're saying they skimped the ps3 version to make the 360 version better? I won't be getting this Tekken at all then.
what oxvial said isnt true. its not the 360's fault as online was a big mess on both systems. Point the blame at namco, not the systems thats used. Its not like the game was graphically groundbreaking and could only be achieved on ps3
The arcade version is the best looking version, it runs off the ps3 architecture but im highly doubting MS threw money at them to dumb it down for home versions. If i was to say they dumbed down the 360 version of Bayonetta since ps3 version couldn't keep up, id be hanged. So why is it ok the other way around?

because you can criticize M$ but you cant criticize $ony.
I disagree there. Why? It's simple really. Exclusives have proven to be far superior to multiplats for one. And two, the arcade from which Tekken 6 was ported is based on PS3 tech meaning a very easy port. Finally, I have to come to the past things Hirada has said about the 360 version causing headaches in terms of space (DVD 9) and framerate issues. Therefore, an exclusive would have gotten way more attention and thus the network would have been able to undergo far more testing before release. Tekken 5's online was much better for example.
People are afraid to say these things because they don't want to be called a "fanboy". Well, if using deductive reasoning to come to a sound conclusion makes me a fanboy, then I guess I'll have to be called one too.
call me fanboy but I'm sure if they would only doing the Ps3 version the game would be more polished .
" call me fanboy but I'm sure if they would only doing the Ps3 version the game would be more polished."
I think when a company chooses to go the exclusive route, they will benefit from it, but thats also true on other systems as the dont have to split teams and cut corners.
When they made tekken 6 for the arcade, they only had it in mind for the ps3 ( hell they even used the ps3 in making the game ), but it only looks slightly better on the arcade. So that kinda knocks that theory out the water.
I love this game offline ( online is getting better i guess ) but every someone said " oh this game can only be done on ps3" i laughed because its not some graphical power house.
Sure, if the game was exclusive to ps3, i think it could have turned out looking better, but if it was exclusive to 360 i would still say the same. Its not that the system of choice would have made a difference, its the fact that the team creating the game could focus solely on one platform.
So yeah, it would look a lil better if it was only on one console whether it be the ps3 or the 360
''When they made tekken 6 for the arcade, they only had it in mind for the ps3 ( hell they even used the ps3 in making the game ), but it only looks slightly better on the arcade. ''
Yeah remember that 360 port was announced out of the blue. thats why I blame the time they spended in the 360 port that apparently was very hard to do .

Yeah I think it's improved but still not perfect.
I still love the game.
if they released dlc to make custom characters, i WILL buy tekken 6. until then, nuh-uh. i got sciv for its character creation and had a hell of a time with it. 😀
The reason they don't do character creation is for two reasons.
Team Soul Calibur is in charge of the SC games, they have nothing to do with Tekken.
the other reason is balance. Created Characters on SC4 (depending on what weapon they use) have nerfed ranges, sometimes extreme. Being an Astaroth user, the last thing id want would be nerfed range on him. And in some cases, they range is improved, like amy and her special guest character counter part. Its why customs aren't allowed in tourneys
Well finally ^_^ next thing I want is a patch to give Bob a thin guy costume ^_^
Yeah, this update fixes the horrendous input lag during online play. People need to understand the difference there. The lag caused from a poor connection coupled with input lag made the matches unplayable regardless of connection speed. I fought somebody with a perfect ping last night and the match was flawless.
Now I just need to preach against those pesky wi-fi users and people with horrible connection speeds. Seriously folks, don't play a fighting game online if you don't have a good connection and if you can't run a wired connection. Just keep dreaming about online play or go play some shooters.
did not like tekken 6 at all, tekken 5 feels so so so much better.
tekken 6 is just far, far, far to slow paced for me, feels like 0 steps forward 50 steps back to me.
and thats quite sad because i was expecting crap, and they still managed to disappoint me, somehow.
Tekken 6 is by far the fastest, I went back to Soul Calibur IV and realized how slow it looked compared to T6.
not understanding the slow paced BS you wrote, but then again you are ________ u are entitled to your own opinion
