Bioware Community Swells Thanks To Dragon Age: Origins

There's little doubt that November has been all about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II , but EA wants tor remind us that Bioware's latest RPG is awfully popular.

Today, EA has announced that DragonAge.com has set a new record for site traffic and the social networking site, Social.Bioware.com, has also reached new heights in the area of new user registrations. All told, the recent release of Dragon Age: Origins has swelled Bioware's ranks; the community has grown to a record five million registered users. In addition, the game has become the "fastest-growing EA property on Facebook," as over 30,000 fans have responded to the Dragon Age Facebook page. Mass Effect 2 (still exclusive to the Xbox 360) is also getting a ton of attention lately and in general, Bioware is mighty pleased with the widespread show of virtual affection. Said co-founder and Group General Manager, Ray Muzyka:

"We want to thank our fans for their enthusiasm and ongoing support. The passion within the community is not only helping drive momentum for Dragon Age referrals but our actively engaged fan base is eager for future content releases, which we are committed to deliver. We could not be more excited about the outstanding community growth. The connection we are fostering with our fans is direct and personal. This tremendous community will help set the stage for an incredible Mass Effect 2 launch on January 26th."

Oh yes, we're big fans of Origins as well and it's good to see it receiving such attention from so many people. Of course, it helps that we're talking about a game where questions and comments would be sky-high due to the inherent depth and intricacy of the title. Because the game can be played so very differently depending on class and simply how you approach combat, there's a whole lot of, "how do you do this?" going on.
