UPDATE: Just so we're clear, guys, I only intend to do this ONCE a week. This will not replace any of the work I do now, or have an affect on our daily operations at PSXE. -Arnold K.
Howdy, folks. Arnold here. Instead of doing a poll, which I felt is a bit informal. So I decided to poll you guys formally, by using the comments section below. As many of you may know, I'm a gearhead…and sometimes, you've probably seen this in my reviews of racing games, my automotive passion happens to get the best of me. For a long time I've wanted to put my thoughts on cars into writing, and lately I've noticed there's a number of you who also enjoy cars quite a bit, or at least, enjoy racing games. So I figured, why not write car reviews and post them as editorials?
What do you guys think? I have access to a lot of high-end vehicles, so having consistent content shouldn't be a problem. I'd also be able to take requests for reviews, as well, provided you guys don't ask me to review a Ferrari or Bugatti. Sound off in the comments below.
yea why not that would be a cool addition.
and if you need any help testing the cars out i would be more than happy to help yous out 😉
if you guys want to help with other things like this may i suggest reviewing some high end electronics? if you have access to any would be great.
as a gaming site i think that would be awesome. you know maybe since this is a more sony oriented site cover some sony tvs or recievers. we all love our ps3's but how do we know what to use to watch and listen to our ps3.
ewwwhewwhewwww, The only thing I like aboot Sony is the consoles. I would never buy a Sony LCD TV or Surround Sound, Its all aboot Samsung or Toshiba for LCD. Last I heard Sony TVs aren't even in the top 10 and if you put a Toshiba beside a Sony then you would know why. Hell I like Samsungs pic quality, but even they pale in comparison to Toshibas fantastic picture quality. For audio its Harmon Kardon.
Frylock,
I'd give you 10 thumbs up for that post!!!
That would be cool, especially if you posted them on sundays, since they are a little thin on new articles. It's usually only Ben's Week in Review that day, maybe one or two other articles. It would be interesting, and I think it's a good opportunity for you Arnold. Go for it, you only get one chance at stuff like this, and it's very obvious that cars are your passion.
I say go ahead and do it if you like. It's not like people will be forced to read the automobile articles if they don't want to.
Or will they……..
An early request, '10 Shelby GT500.
I don't see why some people are being d**ks aboot this, Arnold only asked a question. I'm pretty sure they know what kind of site they run. If you don't think it's a good idea then feel free to say so. Just don't be a d**k aboot it.
I can't drive, mostly because I was never taught and it's illegal to train yourself, so I couldn't care less about actual cars.
However if it doesn't affect the pace of the site too much than why the hell not?
It's obviously something you're passionate about and its you guys' site, which many of us come to partly because of your personalities.
what a sheltered life….
funnily enough, top gear are filming right now at mima in middlesbrough (where im live and where im from) mima is an art gallery here. they have been filming from 9 o'clock in the morning until 12 mi-day, its 11:08 now. the part is its free 🙂 and they are tomorrow.
It wouldn't interest me at all, but I wouldn't have a problem with it.
See its stuff likes this that reminds us that were a community
:enter fanfare:
things like this! Us giving our feedback and it being heard by those we respect
:enter crying women and children:
knowing that when a change is made, we were there! When a problem is solved, we were there!
:enter fainting woman: that when we are presented with a change we welcome it with open arms!
:enter whooping and hollering:
THANK YOU PSXEXTREME WE ARE YOUR FANS AND WE SHALL FOLLOW YOU TO THE DEPTHS OF ANY REVIEW YOU WRITE!
You have… one hell of an imagination.
I have no problem with it, Arnold. I'm not much of a gearhead so, personally, I wouldn't want to read your car editorials. HOWEVER, if that's the case, I'll just skip it and not read it and move on to the next PS3 article. I have no problem with it being there, though.
@wolfcrimson: I try ^_^ plus I'll be damned if I don't salute this site at least once a week lmao its a habit so sue me ^_^
really…huh…OK, i guess. Oh Arnold start off with the Zonda R that B sick lol good luck.
Go for it Arnold. It'd be nice to see some more of your articles since Ben writes his mini personal articles along side the gaming ones. But make sure you do the Bugatti at some point, I LOVE that car. Lmao jk. 😉
If you can review the cars in GT5 or other great racing games, that would be cool. Especially in how the real-world counterparts compare to their virtual avatars.
Arnold, why not try one article and see what happens in a non-game related specific section of the site.
Personally I come to this site for video game related content. I goto to other sources for var info and even then I'm not really interested in the finer details. (Top Gear being a perfect case in point.)
The shift review is a perfect example. It was an ok game, not really a sim at all and Grid was superior in pretty much every aspect. But the shift review went off into as tangent by digressing into stat heaven.
In all honesty, I really dont think car reviews fit, and I worry you will pitch the review at a level not really suitable to your community base.
But it appears the article wasnt really courting opinion, it was just preparing the community for the inevitable.
As a final point, the ps3 articles are great keep up this good work.

what a great idea, just make sure you remember to review european cars, as well as american cars, and japanese imports.. tho dont bother reviewing your 350, we all know u love it!! lol
I've got no problemo with it.
And remember folks, all the reader's here have a freedom of choice….READ them or DON'T read them.
Simple as that!
