Activision Tapping Third Team For Call Of Duty Series

The entire world is Modern Warfare 2 -crazy and Activision has been rolling in the money; this game has become the single biggest entertainment launch ever, according to yesterday's press release.

And now, if you check the last part of a recent LA Times article , it seems two teams for the mammoth Call of Duty franchise are no longer cutting it. Infinity Ward and Treyarch have been handling the duties for the past few years but it seems a third mystery team has been tapped to deliver a new CoD title. The rumors are already flying and one of them centers on the possibility of a MMO – sort of along the lines of MAG – that will undoubtedly come as great news to long-time multiplayer aficionados. In fact, if they separated things and allowed one team to produce one entire CoD dedicated to the online aspect, and another team to create a game that focuses exclusively on the single-player campaign…well damn, that could be cool . Then again, we could be seeing more evidence for that supposed spin-off title featuring Ghost. What do you think it will be? Or perhaps a better question is, what would you want to see from this third CoD studio?

We suppose they could go in any number of directions but at this point, it's hard to envision Activision taking a wrong step with this series. That's like saying we'll soon see a bad Harry Potter book.
